The Role


Neo Financial is looking for a full-time Manager, Treasury to join our Finance team in Calgary, AB.


As our next Manager, Treasury, you will play a key role in the efficiency of our capital deployment. This position involves oversight of our cash management strategies related to our balance sheet to ensure efficient capital deployment. The Manager, Treasury frequently collaborates with other teams to lead the overall cash risk management strategy of Neo.


What you'll be doing:

  • Build and oversee the collateral and funds flow program for Neo’s balance sheet and assets under management, such as deposits and mortgages.
  • Build and review the daily monitoring and optimization of collateral and funds flow process for EFT, e-transfer, bill payment and other payment rail requirements. 
  • Build (and continually improve) a daily cash management forecasting process to ensure that capital requirements (and associated risks) are properly incorporated into our corporate modelling. 
  • Review and negotiate capital management strategy requirements on behalf of Neo, including settlement flows, capital allocations, float and commercials where applicable.
  • Assess and ensure Neo’s adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies as it relates to cash management.
  • Cultivate and maintain accurate and timely documentation of policies, procedures, testing results, and any related remediation activities related to cash management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal audit teams to ensure audit requirements are fulfilled.
  • Build and provide direction on analysis of financial data alongside the relevant macroeconomic trends; present recommendations for managing Neo’s assets and liabilities to senior leadership and executive management.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A and Banking teams to support month end GL entries, forecasting and setting cash limits for any capital management initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

  • You bring a professional accounting designation with relevant Big4 experience.
  • You have experience building and leading new projects with at least 5 years of relevant experience in cash management, treasury or accounting.
  • You bring an intermediate level knowledge of SQL.
