About nesto
Nesto is a leading Canadian fintech company founded in Montreal in 2018. Our core mission is to offer a positive, empowering, and transparent property financing experience, simplified from start to finish. We initially started as a digital broker, aiming to make the complex mortgage process more transparent through technology. We quickly evolved to build Canada’s leading online mortgage lending direct-to-consumer platform, where our qualified mortgage experts are supported by advanced technology.
Since then, we have expanded our offering into a robust "mortgage ecosystem" builder, partnering with large financial institutions across Canada. Our first B2B product debuted in 2022 with IG Wealth Management, concurrent with raising a Series C funding round. A critical milestone occurred last year when nesto acquired CMLS Group. This acquisition formed the Nesto Group (under which nesto, CMLS, and its subsidiary brand Intellifi are housed), resulting in a massive increase in scale, with 1,100 employees and $73 billion in mortgage assets under administration.
Why we are hiring
We deliver on our mission by empowering our partners to improve and streamline their mortgage lending operations with the nesto Mortgage Cloud. As Canada's most advanced cloud-based mortgage technology, our SaaS solution offers a best-in-class omnichannel experience. This platform consistently drives volume, boosts productivity, and lowers technology costs.
To drive the execution of our upcoming projects, we are looking to hire four newly created Director-level roles that will report to our VP, Delivery, within the Customer Delivery Organization:
- Director, Business Consulting
- Director, PMO
- Director, Technical Integration
- Director of Operations (SaaS)
Work location and time zone
We welcome applications from candidates located anywhere in Canada. This is a fully remote opportunity, with the flexibility to work from home or from any of our offices (Montreal, Quebec, Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, and others). Please note that the core working hours for this role are based on the Eastern Time Zone (EST).
What success in this role looks like
The Technical Integration team is the engineering backbone of our Professional Services organization. This team is responsible for ensuring our platform is not just sold, but successfully deployed and embedded into our customers' core operations.
In this role you’ll report to the VP, Delivery and you will successfully lead and empower a high-performing team of specialists recognized for solving the most complex technical challenges. You will define the strategy and operational framework for this critical function, ensuring long-term scalability and a lasting positive impact on the company's growth trajectory.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Technical Integration consulting team, setting the standard for technical excellence and customer-facing interactions.
- Define and own the overall strategy for customer and partner integrations, including the development of tools, processes, and pre-built connectors to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Serve as the company's most senior technical expert in client and prospect meetings, providing architectural oversight and building confidence with executive-level technical stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and delivery of all technical specifications, custom integrations, demos, and proofs of concept created by the team.
- Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex technical challenges encountered during pre-sales, implementation, or in-life operation.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leadership to ensure the product roadmap reflects the technical needs and integration requirements of our customers.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the integration team to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Who we are looking for
- 8-10+ years of experience in a technical, client-facing field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a team of engineers or consultants.
- A deep architectural understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, microservices, middleware, and cloud-native technologies.
- Proven experience in (B2B) SaaS environments or enterprise delivery/consulting.
- A strong "player-coach" mentality, with the ability to dive deep into technical details while also managing team performance and strategy.
- Experience in a pre-sales engineering or solution architecture leadership role is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to command a room and articulate a complex technical vision to C-level executives.
- A track record of hiring, developing, and retaining top technical talent.
Preferred but not a must
- Experience in the financial services or mortgage industry.
- Bilingualism in French and English.
You shouldn't apply if
- You are not motivated by the challenge of building teams, defining processes, or working in a scale-up environment, preferring highly stable, low-pressure roles.
- You are not interested in a role that involves frequent client-facing work or high-level stakeholder negotiation.
- You have no passion for the fintech or mortgage technology space and are unwilling to develop domain expertise.
- You prefer to avoid the technical details of API integration, Solution Architecture, and core implementation activities such as User Acceptance Testing.
