Network Engineer at Nevermore Solutions

Overview

Nevermore Solutions is at the forefront of digital transformation, specializing in ITAM and ITSM integration, governance, and service delivery for a range of clients, including federal agencies. We are actively seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our skilled team. This role is integral to the maintenance and optimization of network infrastructure, contributing directly to our mission of empowering our clients to reach their maximum potential.

As a Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance network solutions that support our complex enterprise operations. Your expertise will be critical for ensuring network security, reliability, and scalability, and you'll work closely with other IT professionals to integrate network services into broader system architectures.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Network Design: Plan and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks.
  • Maintenance: Perform network maintenance tasks, including monitoring for issues, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance.
  • Security: Implement and manage security solutions to safeguard network integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with ITAM, ITSM, and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, topologies, and procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess network performance metrics and implement improvement plans.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors to acquire new technologies and services that align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in network engineering.
  • Certifications: CCNA or CCNP certification is required. Additional certifications in network security are a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required; however, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree. Please note that some positions may have a non-negotiable degree requirement based on customer specifications. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols, routing and switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Federal Experience: Prior experience with federal agencies is advantageous.
