NIHAO Chinese is a Mandarin Immersion Learning Program focused on building community and supporting overall wellbeing at any age. We work with children ages 2-17 through onsite preschools, after-school programs, school district partnerships, and online classes to help promote a curiosity of learning and support Chinese language development at any level.

NIHAO was founded in 2012 with less than 20 students and has grown to have over 2,000 students go through our language learning program. We are excited to have a new Preschool Coordinator to join our team!

Our NIHAO Team uses our unique learning approach to work with your child to incorporate a blended curriculum consisting of language vocabulary, exploration, sensory integration, and project based learning. Our approach creates young leaders in their own educational journey.

About the role

We are seeking a responsible team member to be an afterschool program driver, picking up students from local schools and driving them to the afterschool program. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks, as well as transporting students and teachers. The candidate must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking to consistently deliver exceptional service to our organization.

What you'll do

    1. Handle the transportation of students and teachers safely and efficiently.
    2. Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
    3. Maintain accurate records of mileage, vehicle maintenance, and other relevant documentation.
    4. Coordinate and schedule maintenance work, deliveries, and pickups as needed.
    5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and storage areas.

Qualifications

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    3. Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and climbing.
    4. Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
    5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    7. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
    8. Enjoys working with students.
    9. Must pass background check (Livescan).
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Prior experience working as a driver or chauffeur.
    2. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.

Hours and Schedule

  • Approximately 12-15 hours per week in the afternoons (M- F, 12:30PM - 3:30PM)

The pay range for this role is:

17.50 - 20 USD per hour (Torrance)
