Production Supervisor

About Aalo Atomics

Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we’re rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world’s first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.

About the Role

Aalo is building advanced nuclear reactors at a pace the industry has never seen. Getting there means building hardware faster and better than anyone thinks possible — every shift, every day. The Production Supervisor owns the floor in real time: leading a team of technicians and operators, clearing obstacles the moment they appear, and delivering the day's build plan safely and to spec. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who would rather be at the workstation solving the problem than in a meeting talking about it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of production technicians and operators through the daily and weekly build plan, driving accountability for safety, quality, and schedule
  • Own shift execution: assign work, balance labor across stations, and make real-time calls to keep production moving
  • Conduct shift start-up and hand-off briefings; ensure clean, complete communication between shifts
  • Drive first-time-quality — enforce adherence to work instructions, travelers, and inspection requirements; stop work when quality or safety is at risk
  • Troubleshoot production stoppages alongside the team; coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to restore flow fast
  • Identify and escalate blockers the shift cannot resolve — tooling, materials, staffing, or process — with clear problem statements and proposed solutions
  • Train, qualify, and develop technicians; build depth so the line does not depend on any single individual
  • Own workmanship standards, 5S, and shop floor discipline in your area
  • Provide direct performance feedback, recognize strong work, and address performance issues promptly
  • Capture and act on continuous improvement opportunities surfaced by the team; drive small changes yourself and feed larger ones to Manufacturing Engineering
  • Maintain accurate production records, labor tracking, and shift reporting

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, assembly, or industrial environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading, supervising, or serving as a lead for a team of technicians, operators, or trades personnel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related technical field
  • Experience in a regulated or high-consequence manufacturing environment (nuclear, aerospace, defense, medical device, pressure vessel, oil & gas)
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, welding, machining, or precision fabrication operations
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods (5S, kaizen, standard work, root cause analysis)
  • Experience with an MES or ERP system and electronic work instructions
  • Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and quality documentation
  • Experience building and qualifying a team in a startup or rapid-growth environment
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under schedule pressure
