About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Accounting Intern to support the Accounting and Finance team in a fast-paced, growing organization. This internship will provide hands-on exposure to core accounting operations, monthly close activities, financial reporting support, and audit preparation. The intern will work closely with members of the accounting and finance team and gain practical experience using ERP systems and accounting processes in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and cash account tie-outs
  • Support preparation and maintenance of general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly close processes and supporting schedules
  • Organize and compile audit support and PBC (“Prepared By Client”) requests for external auditors
  • Assist with data entry, journal entry support, and maintaining accounting documentation
  • Help maintain organized financial records and electronic filing systems
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
  • Assist with accounts payable, expense reporting, and other accounting administrative tasks as needed
  • Participate in process improvement and documentation initiatives within the accounting department

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
  • Prior internship or accounting coursework preferred but not required

Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is a plus
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and reconciliations
