AI Intern – Security Technology & Innovation

About American Technology Services LLC

American Technology Services (ATS) started in 1994 with the same mission as today, providing high-quality managed IT services, network support, and cybersecurity services to firms where quality matters most – the organizations that rely heavily on information technology and high levels of services. Over the years, ATS has built client trust that has lasted for years and years. As time goes forward, our consultative approach resonates well, and our “corporate knowledge” about our clients’ IT operations helps our clients perform at a higher level.

About the role

  • We are a security‑focused technology company dedicated to protecting people, assets, and infrastructure through advanced intelligence solutions. What you'll do

  • You’ll work alongside our AI engineers, data scientists, and security analysts to support real‑world projects such as:
  • Developing machine learning models for threat detection, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics
  • Training and evaluating computer vision systems for surveillance, access control, and incident identification
  • Building NLP tools to analyze security reports, logs, and communication patterns
  • Supporting data pipeline development, including data cleaning, labeling, and feature engineering
  • Prototyping automation workflows that enhance situational awareness and reduce manual workload
  • Researching emerging AI techniques relevant to cybersecurity, physical security, and risk intelligence
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to translate security challenges into technical solutions

What You’ll Learn

This internship is designed to give you hands‑on experience with:

  • Real‑world security datasets and operational environments
  • End‑to‑end machine learning workflows
  • Tools such as Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, OpenCV, and cloud platforms
  • Ethical AI practices, data privacy, and responsible model deployment
  • How AI is transforming the security industry

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know everything — curiosity and initiative matter most. We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Coursework or experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or computer science
  • Familiarity with Python and common ML libraries
  • Interest in security, risk analysis, or safety technology
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team
  • A growth mindset and willingness to experiment, iterate, and learn

Bonus skills (not required):

  • Experience with computer vision or NLP
  • Exposure to cybersecurity concepts
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with data labeling or annotation tools

Why Join Us
