Our Open Roles

People & Brand Coordinator

Who we are

Arkeus builds AI-powered sensing systems that help autonomous platforms detect, track and understand what's happening in the most complex and contested environments. Our technology is deployed across defence and national security applications — already protecting lives and strengthening security across the U.S. and allied markets.

Backed by QIC, Main Sequence, R+VC, Salus Ventures, Folklore Ventures, DYNE Ventures and Beaten Zone Venture Partners, Arkeus is entering a major growth phase. We are a small, fast-moving company with the energy and ambition of a start-up and the technical credibility of a world-class defence technology provider.

We work at the intersection of optics, autonomy, robotics and real-time AI and we deploy what we build. If you want to ship technology that matters, not technology that ships decks, this is where you belong.

We have developed an inclusive, transparent and engaging culture that focuses on building a diverse workforce — realising that to attract the very best, we need to ensure our culture is ready to welcome people from all ages, genders and backgrounds.

About the role

The HR & Marketing Coordinator is a junior position supporting two functions during a period of rapid growth at Arkeus.

You'll split your time between HR administration and recruitment support, and marketing and brand execution — giving you broad exposure across the business while providing practical, hands-on support to both teams.

You'll play an important role in keeping day-to-day HR and Marketing activities organised and on track, from coordinating interviews and supporting onboarding to managing tradeshow administration, events and internal communications.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is organised, proactive and keen to build practical skills across people operations and marketing simultaneously, while working in a fast-moving defence tech scale-up.

About you

You're organised, proactive and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks and keep on top of competing priorities.

You're comfortable switching between different types of work throughout the day — from scheduling interviews and updating HR records to managing tradeshow requirements, coordinating events or making website updates.

You take ownership of your work, follow through on deadlines and are comfortable working with recurring and sometimes repetitive tasks. You're also happy taking direction from two managers with different priorities, communicate clearly, and are keen to learn and figure things out rather than needing everything mapped out in advance.

Attention to detail and discretion are particularly important in this role. You're also comfortable using technology and AI tools to support your day-to-day work, while understanding when information is confidential and what AI should and shouldn't be used for.

Key responsibilities

HR & People Support

  • Keep our people data accurate and organised by maintaining employee records within Rippling and supporting the reliability of our HR systems.
  • Ensure our recruitment process moves smoothly by coordinating interview schedules, candidate communications and hiring timelines across active recruitment pipelines.
  • Create a great first-day experience by supporting onboarding, inductions and new-starter administration.
  • Bring teams together by designing and coordinating engaging social activities, events, and employee experiences.
  • Contribute to a range of People initiatives through proactive HR administration, process improvement and support for evolving employee programs.

Marketing & Brand Support

  • Bring our tradeshows to life by coordinating exhibitor portals, submissions, attendee lists, brand assets, speaker materials, deadlines and key event requirements.
  • Strengthen internal engagement by contributing to employee communications, HR campaigns and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deliver engaging and well-organised events by coordinating registrations, invitations, RSVPs, catering, attendee materials and on-site logistics.
  • Keep our digital presence up to date through CMS updates, including publishing and maintaining careers content and job opportunities.
  • Work across People, process and brand by bringing organisation, creativity and momentum to marketing and employee engagement activities.

What success looks like

First 90 days:

You've learned both teams' tools and workflows, understand the key recurring processes and deadlines, and are reliably completing routine HR and Marketing tasks with minimal oversight. You're keeping records up to date, following through on assigned tasks and becoming someone both managers can rely on for day-to-day support.

First year:

You've become a trusted and dependable support across both HR and Marketing. You have taken ownership of recurring processes in each function, confidently manage key administrative activities and deadlines, and can independently coordinate tasks.

You've also developed a good understanding of how both functions operate and are proactively identifying ways to keep processes organised, improve efficiency and support the wider team.

Your experience and skills

  • Some exposure to HR and/or marketing through an internship, part-time work, relevant study or projects. (No specific years of experience are required, although around 1 year of experience in HR and/or Marketing is an advantage.)
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks.
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities across two teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable working with repetitive and administrative tasks.
  • Able to stay on top of key dates, deadlines and requirements, and proactively follow up with the team when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using common tools such as Microsoft Office. Exposure to ATS platforms, HubSpot or Adobe is a plus but not essential — other tools, including tradeshow portals and systems required for the role, can be taught.
  • Comfortable working with confidential candidate and employee information and demonstrates appropriate discretion.
  • Comfortable taking direction from different stakeholders and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to support day-to-day tasks and keen to keep learning new ways to use them.
