We turn enterprise data into real-time decisions using advanced machine learning and GenAI. Our team solves hard engineering problems at scale, with real-world industry impact. We’re hiring passionate builders to shape the future of industrial intelligence.

Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Indore, India (offshore; Pune also considered)

Experience: 5-8 years

About the Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Sr. DevOps Engineer to design, build and own the CI/CD, automation and platform infrastructure behind a large-scale enterprise platform delivered for a global automotive client.
  • The Sr. DevOps Engineer will work as part of a distributed onsite/offshore team, partnering daily with US-based technical leads, developers and QA to make releases fast, repeatable and low-risk — owning pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerized deployments and observability end to end.
  • What You Will Do
  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines end to end, owning build, test, packaging, promotion and deployment across all environments.
  • Automate everything that is currently manual — releases, environment provisioning, configuration, routine operational tasks — using scripting (Bash, Python, Groovy) and pipeline-as-code.
  • Define and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and/or Ansible, applying version control, peer review and repeatable environment builds.
  • Build, deploy and operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including Helm charts, rollout and rollback strategy, resource tuning and cluster troubleshooting.
  • Administer, harden and tune Linux environments, and manage networking, storage and access at the platform level.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog or Splunk) so problems are detected and diagnosed before users report them.
  • Troubleshoot, root-cause and resolve build failures, deployment failures and production incidents, driving permanent fixes rather than workarounds.
  • Manage secrets, credentials and environment configuration securely (Vault or equivalent), and embed security and quality scanning into the pipeline.
  • Document pipelines, infrastructure decisions and runbooks so knowledge is transferable across the onsite and offshore team.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate proactively across time zones with US-based leads, developers and QA, communicating progress and blockers without needing to be chased.

A Note on Hands-On Delivery

This is a hands-on engineering role. The Sr. DevOps Engineer is expected to build pipelines and automation personally every sprint, not to coordinate or oversee others building them. Candidates should be able to walk through a pipeline or automation module they personally wrote recently, explain the design trade-offs behind it, and debug an unfamiliar broken build or failed deployment live. This is a DevOps engineering role first — cloud platform experience is expected in support of it, but candidates whose background is primarily cloud administration or console-based operations are not a fit.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of hands-on DevOps, platform or release engineering experience supporting enterprise applications in production.
  • Deep, production-level experience designing and owning CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps — pipeline-as-code, not UI-only configuration.
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, and/or Ansible or CloudFormation, managed under version control.
  • Solid production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm, deployment strategies, and cluster-level troubleshooting.
  • Strong Linux administration skills and confident scripting in Bash and Python (or Groovy) to automate operational work.
  • Practical experience with monitoring, logging and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog or Splunk, including building alerts and dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of Git branching and release strategy, and artifact/dependency management (Nexus, Artifactory, Maven or Gradle builds).
  • Secondary but required: working experience with a cloud platform (AWS or Azure) sufficient to provision, secure and operate the infrastructure above.
  • Experience with production incident response and on-call, and delivering in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira within a distributed onsite/offshore model.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication, with the ability to work directly with US-based leads and stakeholders across time zones.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred / Differentiating Qualifications

  • GitOps practice and tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux, and progressive delivery (blue/green, canary).
  • DevSecOps practice — pipeline security, SAST/dependency/container scanning with SonarQube, Snyk or Trivy — and secrets management with HashiCorp Vault.
  • Service mesh, ingress and API gateway experience (Istio, NGINX, Kong), and network/TLS troubleshooting.
  • Database deployment automation (Liquibase, Flyway) and automated backup/restore and DR testing.
  • Performance, reliability and cost optimization — build-time reduction, autoscaling, capacity planning, SLO/error-budget practice.
  • Automotive, manufacturing or logistics domain experience; CKA/CKAD, Terraform Associate or a cloud certification is a plus.

Characteristics of the Person We Are Looking For

  • Genuinely hands-on. Builds pipelines and automation personally every sprint and takes pride in what ships.
  • An owner. Treats the delivery pipeline and platform as theirs — through design, implementation, release and production support — without waiting for task-level direction.
  • An automator by instinct. Sees a repeated manual step and removes it rather than documenting it.
  • A clear communicator. Explains technical decisions plainly in English, in writing and on a call, to onsite leads and non-engineers alike.
  • A strong debugger. Comfortable in unfamiliar systems, reasons from logs, metrics and evidence, and finds root cause rather than a workaround.
  • Calm under pressure and proactive across time zones. Handles production incidents methodically and surfaces blockers early rather than going quiet.
  • Pragmatic. Balances ideal tooling against delivery reality and knows when good enough is the right call.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Sr. DevOps Engineer makes releases boring — frequent, automated, repeatable and low-risk. Environments are provisioned from code rather than by hand, failures are caught by monitoring before users notice, and incidents in their area are rare and quickly resolved. Developers ship faster because the pipeline works, onsite leads trust the release process, and the offshore team gains platform capability rather than needing supervision.
