About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Controller to lead accounting and financial operations in a growing manufacturing organization.

This role will oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and cost management, while supporting leadership on financial planning and operational decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both strategically and at a detailed, operational level.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP

Cost Accounting & Operations

• Oversee cost accounting, including materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Monitor production costs and perform margin and variance analysis
• Partner with operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Cash Flow & Planning

• Manage cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting
• Provide financial insights to support business decisions

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support accounting staff (Senior and Staff Accountants)
• Establish clear processes, expectations, and accountability
• Review work and ensure consistency across accounting functions

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements
• Support audit processes and documentation

Process Improvement & Systems

• Improve accounting workflows and reporting processes
• Support ERP usage and system improvements
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, with leadership responsibility
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory
• Solid understanding of GAAP

• Strong leadership and team management ability
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar preferred)
