Founded in 1972, T Bar M Racquet Club has served as the premier private members tennis and racquet Club for Texas and the greater southwest region. It is internationally recognized as a best-in-class training facility for competitive, professional, semi-professional and social tennis for adults and children, while also offering a range of health and wellness amenities, including a gym, chiropractic and sports medicine services and group fitness classes.

 

In June 2022, Dallas-based WoodHouse acquired T Bar M and is renovating and enhancing the property, creating a world-class racquet Club. The evolved Club will house the classic tennis club and facilities in a fresh new environment. The Club’s brand and amenities will continue to cater to individuals and families in search of a social and communal anchor that is grounded in an active, health and wellness-focused mindset. 

 

The new Banner House at T Bar M will include 21 tennis courts (8 indoor courts, 3 Euro red clay courts and 14 outdoor courts), 2 padel courts, 8 pickleball courts, retail/pro shop, a resort style pool, taqueria, private events, lounges, restaurant and bar. In addition to these amenities there is a 12,000 SF Fitness Center with best-in-class training equipment and state of the art locker rooms, including a cold plunge, dry sauna and hot tub. Paired with the new Club house and Fitness offerings is a full service Wellness, Spa and Chiropractic offering with 6 treatment rooms for massage/facials, IV’s, injectables and 3 chiropractic rooms for adjustments, soft tissue therapy, needling, and more. 


About The Role


The Director of Pickleball at Banner House is responsible for leading, growing, and managing all pickleball programming at both Banner House, an exclusive private racquet club, and PPH, the adjacent public pickleball facility. This position is responsible for creating an exceptional member and guest experience through innovative programming, high-quality instruction, outstanding customer service, and strong staff leadership. The Director of Pickleball will oversee all lessons, leagues, mixers, tournaments, and social events while developing new opportunities to increase participation, revenue, and community engagement. The position will also serve as a teaching professional, providing both private and group instruction, and will lead and mentor the pickleball professional staff.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive year-round pickleball programming calendar for both Banner House and PPH.
  • Grow participation through creative programming, leagues, clinics, beginner pathways, and specialty events.
  • Introduce innovative social mixers and themed events that appeal to players of all skill levels.
  • Create tournament opportunities ranging from fun recreational events to competitive sanctioned tournaments.
  • Continuously evaluate programming and introduce new ideas to maximize participation and member satisfaction.
  • Teach private lessons, semi-private lessons, and group clinics for juniors and adults.
  • Develop player pathways from beginner through advanced competitive levels.
  • Ensure lessons are engaging, educational, and professionally delivered.
  • Mentor newer players and help retain members through exceptional coaching.
  • Supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of four pickleball professionals.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Establish teaching standards and customer service expectations.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding additional instructors as the program grows.
  • Plan and execute:
    • Weekly mixers
    • Round robins
    • Ladder leagues
    • Club championships
    • Charity events
    • Invitational tournaments
    • Special social events
  • Coordinate event logistics including registration, draws, staffing, court assignments, awards, and communications.
  • Ensure all events are professionally organized and create memorable experiences.
  • Coordinate daily court usage and programming schedules between both facilities.
  • Work closely with club leadership to maximize court utilization.
  • Assist with equipment management, court supplies, and facility presentation.
  • Maintain high standards for court appearance and operational excellence.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive culture for members and guests.
  • Build strong relationships with players of all ages and abilities.
  • Resolve member concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Encourage member engagement and retention through exceptional service.
  • Grow lesson revenue and program participation.
  • Assist in preparing annual programming budgets.
  • Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for increased revenue.
  • Help achieve annual participation and financial goals.


Qualifications

  • Certified Pickleball Professional (PPR, PCI, IPTPA, or equivalent preferred)
  • Previous experience managing a successful pickleball program
  • Strong teaching ability across all skill levels
  • Experience organizing tournaments and leagues
  • Proven leadership and staff management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events
  • Passion for growing the sport of pickleball
