The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available to join the Culture Kings team as Financial Controller, based at our Brisbane Headquarters. We are looking for a driven finance leader who is passionate about accuracy, control and disciplined execution, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated to make a meaningful impact.

Reporting to the Global Finance Director, you will own the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the Group's reported financial results, leading the close process and finance operations that underpin trusted, well-controlled reporting across the business.

The Role

In this role, you will own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, taking accountability for the accuracy and completeness of the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow and all supporting financial records.

You will maintain a strong accounting governance and internal controls framework, coordinate statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit activity, and oversee treasury, working capital and day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight and the general ledger.

You will also lead and develop the financial accounting and finance operations team, partner closely with FP&A by providing dependable actuals and clear accounting explanations, and work with IT and Data teams to maintain the integrity of financial data across connected systems.

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with CA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience owning a complex month-end and year-end close across multiple entities, markets or channels
• Demonstrated accountability for complete financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow
• Experience with statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit and financial controls (SOX experience advantageous)
• Strong ERP and financial systems capability, with the ability to identify data, process and control issues
• Experience leading and developing a finance team, with clear standards and capability building
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain accounting outcomes and financial risks to non-finance stakeholders
