About the role

D-Wave is seeking an experienced Electrical Production Technician II to join our Engineering and Production team. In this role, you will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and integrate electrical and electromechanical assemblies used in our advanced quantum computing systems. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Laboratory Operations, and Supply Chain, you will help ensure products are manufactured, tested, and documented to the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.

What you'll do

  • Assemble, integrate, inspect, and verify electrical and electromechanical assemblies in accordance with manufacturing documentation, quality standards, ESD requirements, and safety procedures. 
  • Perform functional testing, inspection, and validation using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, and other diagnostic tools. 
  • Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, and assembly issues to identify root causes and complete repairs or rework as required. 
  • Support engineering validation builds, prototype assemblies, new product introductions (NPI), and engineering change implementations. 
  • Execute work orders and maintain accurate production, test, and traceability records. 
  • Develop and improve manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and test documentation. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturability. 
  • Maintain production equipment, tools, and test fixtures to ensure safe and reliable operation. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Provide general production and laboratory support as needed.
  • Perform functional testing, inspection, and validation using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, automatic cable testers and other diagnostic tools.  


Required

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, electrical assembly, or production testing. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). 
  • Experience using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, and other diagnostic instruments. 
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical assemblies to the component or subsystem level. 
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, cable assembly, crimping, connector installation, and general electronic assembly techniques. 
  • Experience working with ERP and work order systems; NetSuite and Jira experience is considered an asset. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and safely lift up to 30 lbs.
