Interns support the Personal Lines and Small Business Direct Sales teams through hands‑on client work, formal training, and cross‑department exposure. This program serves as a key pipeline for future advisor roles.

Role Summary: 

Title: Summer Intern – Direct Sales (Risk Management) 

Commitment: Full‑time, paid summer internship 

Location: Multiple Element Risk offices 

Department: Personal Lines & Small Business Direct Sales 

Interns complete structured training, support advisors with client assessments and documentation, and deliver independent client‑facing projects. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Complete all onboarding and industry training within the first six weeks 
  • Conduct client assessments and prepare supporting documentation 
  • Deliver 2–3 independent client‑facing projects 
  • Participate in 20–30 hours of cross‑department shadowing 
  • Maintain high standards for accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism 
  • Engage in weekly check‑ins, a midterm review, and a final evaluation 

Performance Metrics: 

  • Client Assessments: 8–12 completed 
  • Independent Deliverables: 2–3 completed 
  • Training Completion: 100% within 6 weeks 
  • Shadowing: 20–30 hours logged 
  • Accuracy: ≥95% 
  • Response Time: ≥90% within 24 business hours 
  • Attendance: ≥95% on time 
  • Performance Reviews: ≥90% meeting or exceeding expectations 

Ideal Candidate Profile: 

  • Pursuing a degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields (all majors considered) 
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills 
  • Curious, coachable, and motivated to learn the industry 
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment 
  • Demonstrates alignment with Element Risk’s core values 

Program Structure: 

  • Weekly 15–30 minute supervisor check‑ins 
  • Midterm review at Week 4 
  • Final review at program completion 
  • Monthly program syncs with HR and department leads 
  • Cross‑office shadowing rotations coordinated by the program team
