The Quality Gaging Technician provides operations support by overseeing, monitoring, and advising on the related documentation, records, and tracking of all gages used by EMS to formally accept product.


This role is introduced as a modified shift schedule, working onsite Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm.



Responsibilities

  • Oversee EMS Quality Assurance (QA) inspection gaging policies commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and title to meet EMS’ process needs and customer requirements and in accordance with QMS 7600 procedure.
  • Identifying and maintaining calibration of all gages used in the formal acceptance of product at EMS.
  • Interfaces with customers relating to gages loaned to EMS.
  • Instruct affected EMS personnel on proper gage calibration practices and policies.
  • Oversee updates, changes, and related training to existing EMS documentation and records procedures relating to gage ID, traceability, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Oversee the gage tracking system used to verify all gage calibrations are current and that gages are identified as such prior to use.
  • Should a gage be found to be out of calibration, advise the area manager and assist in implementation of any necessary non-compliance policies, as described in QMS 7600.
  • Ensure gages are stored in an environmentally suitable and physically safe location.
  • Support the EMS Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Have a basic knowledge of gaging.
  • Ability to understand basic measuring equipment including mics, calipers, comparators, and indicators.
  • Be able to read and understand the Router.
  • Understand the Data Collection System.
  • Have an understanding of relevant Safety requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.

Restrictions

  • Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Ability to stand the majority of the shift to perform duties and navigate moving across an active manufacturing facility while production is in ongoing.
