About the role

Envision’s growing IT Consultative Services practice is seeking a hands-on technology leader. As a member of our team, you will provide fractional leadership, practical expertise, and trusted guidance to help clients become Future Ready. This role is 40% hands-on-keyboard and 60% strategic consulting, executive communication, and coordination. The ideal candidate is curious, continuously learning, and skilled at identifying emerging trends in the industry that are opportunities and/or risks for business.


What you'll do

  • Lead a client portfolio, delivering business-aligned technology strategies and roadmaps. 
  • Partner with client stakeholders to understand their business and develop: 
    • Technology visions and transformation plans 
    • Strategic IT investment roadmaps 
    • Implementation schedules 
  • Work with the Envision Project Delivery Team to deliver roadmap initiatives on time, within budget, and beyond expectations. 
  • Lead new-client onboarding. 
  • Conduct workshops, periodic account reviews and strategic on-site meetings to identify needs, growth opportunities, and initiatives. 
  • Champion client success. 
  • Support the business development team as they prepare quotes and statements of work to meet strategic objectives 
  • Serve as technical architect and manager for Microsoft productivity products and services, including: 
    • Implementation guidance and best practices 
    • Legacy-to-Microsoft-cloud migration planning 
    • Microsoft product and service deployment 
  • Use managed services tools to improve efficiency and scale, including: 
    • ConnectWise 
    • CyberArk 
    • Power BI 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should have 5-10 years’ experience and can execute the following scenarios: 

  • Blend hands-on technical depth with executive leadership, balancing tactical IT work with strategic planning and delegation.
  • Bring deep Microsoft cloud and security expertise, including migrations, zero-trust, governance, compliance, and disaster recovery.
  • Translate technology into business outcomes through clear executive communication, roadmap development, financial awareness, and sales support.
  • Demonstrate substantial leadership experience by having the ability to work directly with client leadership and be the expert in the room to help them plan to deploy, manage, secure, and govern project lifecycles.
  • Practical AI knowledge and expertise, including the ability to identify use cases, evaluate risks, and apply AI and automation to business outcomes
  • Brings IT Director level experience, including direct collaboration with leadership, and is ready to advance to the next level.
  • Understands how to facilitate a culture of innovation

Ideal applicants should also have experience across several of the following technology areas:

  • Innovation and automation: GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Microsoft Power Platform, workflow automation, and robotic process automation.
  • Microsoft cloud and productivity: Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, endpoint management, threat protection, and security.
  • Data center infrastructure: Dell, Cisco, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, and Palo Alto Networks.
  • Hyperconverged and hybrid cloud: Azure Local and Edge, OpenStack, and Nutanix.
  • Cybersecurity: SentinelOne, Nessus, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Security Copilot, and Tenable.io.
  • Software-defined edge and multicloud networking: Aviatrix, Check Point, and F5.
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery: Backup solutions that support organizational resilience.
  • Enterprise content access and security: Fastly, Cloudflare, and Azure Front Door.
