Five Star Home Services is looking for an experienced Hybrid Plumber who can move confidently between residential service calls and plumbing installations.

This isn't an entry-level plumbing position. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems, communicate solutions to homeowners, complete high-quality repairs, and take ownership of larger installation and replacement projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Hybrid Plumber, your work will vary based on customer and business needs. Some days you'll run residential service calls. Other days you'll complete installations, replacements, or larger plumbing projects.

You'll be expected to handle both.

Residential Service

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential plumbing problems
• Repair water supply, drainage, waste, and vent systems
• Repair or replace fixtures, faucets, toilets, disposals, valves, and other plumbing components
• Diagnose leaks, water-pressure issues, drainage problems, and system failures
• Evaluate plumbing systems and identify appropriate repair or replacement solutions
• Clearly explain findings, options, and recommendations to homeowners
• Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and to applicable plumbing codes

Residential Installation

• Install and replace water heaters and other residential plumbing equipment
• Complete fixture and plumbing-system replacements
• Install and modify water, waste, drainage, and vent piping
• Complete plumbing installations associated with remodels, replacements, and residential projects
• Verify measurements, materials, equipment, and job requirements before installation
• Test completed systems for proper operation and code compliance
• Coordinate with other Five Star technicians and departments when projects involve multiple trades

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• 3-5+ years of professional residential plumbing experience
• Demonstrated experience with both plumbing service and installation
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to independently complete residential plumbing repairs and installations
• Working knowledge of residential plumbing systems and applicable plumbing codes
• Ability to determine when a system should be repaired versus replaced
• Strong customer communication and service skills
• Ability to accurately document work performed and recommendations
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential plumbing work
• Ability to participate in scheduled on-call, weekend, and overtime coverage as needed

THE RIGHT HYBRID PLUMBER

This role is designed for an experienced plumber who doesn't fit neatly into an "Installer" or "Service Tech" box.

You're someone who can walk into a customer's home, figure out what's wrong, explain it without confusing or pressuring them, and complete the work correctly.

You can also transition to a larger installation and understand how to plan the job, execute the work, solve problems in the field, and leave behind an installation you're proud to put your name on.

Most importantly, you understand that technical ability is only part of the job. How we treat the customer's home and how we treat the customer matter just as much as the work itself.
