Developer Advocate

We are looking for a Developer Advocate to help developers understand, adopt, and build with Oracle AI Database.

This role is for someone who is technically credible, community-minded, and passionate about teaching. You will create demos, tutorials, videos, talks, sample applications, documentation-adjacent content, and hands-on learning experiences that show developers how to use Oracle AI Database in real-world AI and application development scenarios.

You will work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, content producers, and the wider developer community. The right person will be comfortable explaining technical topics clearly, building practical examples, speaking to developer audiences, and operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities, launches, and market conversations evolve quickly.

Key responsibilities:

• Create developer-facing technical content for Oracle AI Database, including demos, tutorials, videos, blog posts, sample apps, code walkthroughs, workshops, talks, and hands-on guides.
• Build practical examples that show how developers can use Oracle AI Database for AI-enabled applications, data-driven workflows, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, analytics, and modern application development.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and technical experts to understand product capabilities and translate them into clear developer stories.
• Present at conferences, webinars, livestreams, meetups, workshops, customer events, and internal enablement sessions.
• Collaborate with video producers and motion designers to create compelling developer video content, including demos, explainers, launch content, and technical walkthroughs.
• Engage with developer communities through social media, forums, GitHub, events, feedback sessions, and community programs.
• Identify developer pain points, common questions, adoption barriers, and content gaps, then turn those insights into practical resources.
• Create and maintain demo repositories, scripts, sample code, technical assets, and repeatable presentation materials.
• Support product launches and campaigns by developing credible, hands-on technical content.
• Stay current with AI application development, databases, cloud platforms, developer tooling, open-source ecosystems, and emerging patterns in data-driven software development.

Required experience and skills:

• Strong technical background in software development, databases, cloud platforms, data engineering, AI application development, or related areas.
• Ability to write, explain, and present technical concepts clearly for developer audiences.
• Hands-on experience building demos, sample applications, tutorials, or technical content.
• Comfortable with at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or similar.
• Familiarity with SQL, databases, APIs, application architecture, and modern developer workflows.
• Strong communication skills across written, video, live presentation, and conversational formats.
• Ability to work with engineering and product teams to understand technical capabilities and represent them accurately.
• Comfortable presenting to technical audiences and answering live questions.
• Strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and self-direction.
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving product narratives.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical evangelism, solutions engineering, technical product marketing, engineering, or developer education.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, enterprise data platforms, or AI database use cases.
• Experience with AI/ML concepts, embeddings, vector search, RAG, LLM application development, data pipelines, or intelligent application architectures.
• Experience creating technical videos, livestreams, workshops, conference talks, blog posts, documentation, GitHub repositories, or hands-on labs.
• Existing public technical presence through speaking, writing, GitHub, open-source contributions, community engagement, or educational content.
• Understanding of enterprise developer needs, including security, scalability, reliability, performance, governance, and integration concerns.
• Ability to collaborate with creative teams to turn technical concepts into compelling multimedia content.

What success looks like

Success means developers can more easily understand what Oracle AI Database enables, how to get started, and how to build real applications with it. You will help turn product capabilities into practical developer experiences, credible technical stories, and content that drives awareness, adoption, and trust.

Application requirement

Candidates should provide examples of technical content, code, talks, videos, workshops, GitHub repositories, blog posts, or demos they have created. Public developer-facing work is strongly preferred, but internal technical enablement content is also relevant.
