About the Role

Kinetic Custom Trailers is seeking a Business Systems Analyst – ERP & Business Intelligence to help transform business systems and operational data into better visibility, stronger decision-making, and improved organizational performance.

This role sits at the intersection of business operations, systems, and data. The Analyst will develop a strong understanding of how Kinetics' business systems function, how information moves through those systems, and how that information can be used to measure performance, identify constraints, and support better business decisions.

A major focus of the position will be supporting and becoming a power user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, while developing reporting, KPIs, dashboards, system improvements, and analytical tools that provide meaningful visibility into organizational performance.

The Business Systems Analyst - ERP & Business Intelligence will work closely with the Business Process Improvement Specialist and functional teams to translate business requirements and improvement opportunities into effective system, data, reporting, and workflow solutions.

Who You Are

You’re an analytical, systems-minded problem solver who enjoys understanding what sits behind the numbers and how systems, data, and business performance connect. You’re naturally curious about what the information is telling you and motivated to turn data into clear visibility, meaningful insights, and practical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Business Systems & Business Central

  • Develop advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and its use across Kinetic.
  • Become a key internal Business Central power user and resource.
  • Understand how business processes, transactions, master data, and workflows are represented within Kinetic's systems.
  • Support Business Central implementation, configuration, testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Translate operational and business requirements into system requirements and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system configuration, workflows, automation, integrations, and user experience.
  • Support system adoption and effective system utilization across departments.
  • Assist with troubleshooting business-process and system issues by understanding both the operational requirement and underlying system behaviour.

Business Intelligence & Performance Visibility

  • Develop and maintain KPIs that provide meaningful visibility into organizational and departmental performance.
  • Work with functional leaders to determine what should be measured, why it matters, and how the information should be interpreted.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, scorecards, and other performance-management tools.
  • Use Power BI, Business Central, Excel, and other tools to make operational information accessible and actionable.
  • Improve visibility into performance, capacity, constraints, productivity, quality, schedule attainment, and other key business measures.
  • Ensure reporting focuses on information that supports decisions and action rather than simply producing data.

Data & Business Analysis

  • Analyze operational and business data to identify trends, exceptions, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate the underlying factors contributing to changes in business performance.
  • Work with departments to understand what performance information means operationally.
  • Identify gaps in available data and recommend improvements to how information is captured.
  • Validate data accuracy and investigate inconsistencies between systems, processes, and reported results.
  • Translate complex information into clear findings and practical recommendations for leadership and operational teams.

Systems & Process Integration

  • Work closely with the Process Improvement Specialist to translate improved processes and business requirements into system solutions.
  • Evaluate how proposed process changes will interact with Business Central and other business systems.
  • Determine system, data, reporting, workflow, and integration requirements associated with improvement initiatives.
  • Support the design and implementation of scalable system solutions.
  • Identify where technology or automation can reduce manual work, improve controls, or provide better information.
  • Help ensure business systems reinforce standardized processes rather than creating additional complexity.

Project & Implementation Support

  • Participate in cross-functional business systems and improvement initiatives.
  • Support system requirements gathering, solution design, testing, validation, implementation, and adoption.
  • Develop testing plans and participate in user acceptance testing.
  • Document system requirements, configurations, workflows, and decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external system partners where required.
  • Monitor implemented solutions to determine whether they are delivering the intended business outcomes.

Documentation & Knowledge Development

  • Maintain business systems documentation, reporting definitions, system procedures, and supporting knowledge resources.
  • Document KPI definitions, calculation methodologies, data sources, and reporting logic.
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and system documentation.
  • Help build organizational understanding of how systems and data should be used.
  • Reduce reliance on undocumented institutional knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with ERP, business intelligence, business systems, analytics, or operational reporting.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.
  • ERP implementation, optimization, or administration experience.
  • Power BI or similar business intelligence/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and data analysis.
  • Ability to understand both business requirements and technical/system concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate data and technical information into meaningful business insights.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
  • KPI development and performance reporting.
  • Data modelling, reporting, or business analytics.
  • Workflow automation and systems integration.
  • SQL, Power Query, Power Automate, or similar tools considered assets.
  • Experience translating business requirements into system solutions.
