National Account Manager - Walmart

Who We Are

As one of the fastest-growing on-the-go drinkware companies in America, we’ve got a reputation for doing great things. Our vision is simple - bring delight to eating and drinking.

Delight is different to everyone. Whether it’s the perfect cup of coffee, or a water bottle that helps you crush your workout, our mission is to make it look great, function perfectly and cost less than you’d expect.

Delivering on this promise takes extraordinary efforts and exceptional people. Through our teams’ ingenuity and grit, we’ve created a place where the best ideas win, and they can come from anyone. Our culture combines the scrappy spirit of a startup with the perks of a market leader.

We believe the right way to design products starts and ends with two key ingredients: process + people. Process is the path that takes us from ideas to products that are on brand, on time and on budget. People are the secret sauce that adds ingenuity every step of the way.

Together, we navigate each day with optimism, curiosity, a healthy sense of humor and a strong allergy to the word “no.” This desire for better, coupled with a deep understanding of consumers’ daily lives, gets us to meaningful delight.

About the Role

As the day to day owner of Leapfrog's Walmart business, this role is responsible for delivering strong financial results while building a strategic partnership with Walmart's merchant, merchandising and replenishment teams. Our National Account Manager will leverage retail analytics (including Walmart Retail Link, Item 360 and Scintilla Charter), consumer trends, category insights, and customer knowledge to identify growth opportunities, optimize Leapfrog's assortment, improve operational execution, and enhance the in-store and online shopper experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Build a business strategy (alongside the Director of Sales) to meet and exceed annual budget goals, owning a budget number you're accountable to hit across channels and accounts, and pursuing new business/category opportunities as needed to help achieve those goals.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact with Walmart's merchant and replenishment teams, supporting the Director of Sales in strengthening the account relationship and identifying category growth and new business opportunities.
  • Manage and develop junior staff, coaching the team to execute against Leapfrog's annual sales budget goals.
  • Serve as the voice of the account in cross-functional planning with Channel/Marketing and Product Marketing, driving input into new product development and brand positioning to ensure alignment with account-specific market dynamics.
  • Develop strategic, tailored assortment plans spanning channels and multiple categories, focused on long-term growth and maximizing sales.
  • Lead day-to-day sales meetings and category business reviews including coordinating with the Director of Sales on executive-level engagements and crafting personalized presentations and providing the materials needed to support them.
  • Own analytical and presentation support for all accounts, translating retail analytics, category trends, and competitive insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with Operations to maintain accurate sales forecasts and with Supply Chain to support inventory availability, fill rates, and on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance.
  • Execute pricing strategy and manage sample logistics in support of new item launches, resets, and promotional programs.
  • Monitor category trends, competitive activity, and marketplace changes, keeping the Director of Sales informed of risks and growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for the Walmart account, sharing retailer insights and best practices across the organization.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience managing a large mass-retail national account (ideally Walmart) within a consumer products industry, with ownership of sales targets, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Familiarity with Walmart's retail ecosystem, including Retail Link, Item 360, replenishment processes, and OTIF/supply chain requirements a huge plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute an annual business plan against a budget number, including identifying and developing new business.
  • Experience managing and developing junior team members.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate retail data and category trends into actionable strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence Walmart buyers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience crafting tailored materials for retail partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
