What we’re looking for

As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Vice President to join our Property Tax practice. This role is ideal for an experienced property tax professional who thrives in complex consulting environments and enjoys balancing technical problem solving, client leadership, and team development. You will lead engagements from strategy through execution, working directly with sophisticated clients while helping to develop the next generation of professionals within our practice.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating property tax challenges across a variety of industries, including energy, infrastructure, industrial, renewables, and other asset-intensive sectors. You will be responsible for managing engagements, reviewing complex analyses, developing recommendations, and ensuring clients receive practical solutions that create measurable value.

What you'll do

  • Lead property tax consulting, assessment review, valuation, incentive, and appeal engagements across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, developing trusted relationships and managing expectations throughout engagements.
  • Develop engagement strategies and oversee execution from planning through final delivery.
  • Review complex property valuations, assessment analyses, modeling, appeal support, and client deliverables.
  • Identify property tax savings opportunities, assessment risks, and strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements while overseeing timelines, budgets, staffing, and quality control.
  • Present findings and recommendations to client stakeholders, including executive leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to support broader transaction and advisory engagements.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Associates and Senior Associates through technical review, feedback, and professional guidance.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives within the practice.
  • Contribute to proposal development, thought leadership, and market-facing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support the continued growth of the Property Tax practice.
  • Stay informed on emerging property tax legislation, assessment methodologies, valuation trends, and industry developments.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in property tax consulting, assessment appeals, valuation advisory, state and local tax, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex property tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of property valuation methodologies, assessment practices, appeal processes, and jurisdictional property tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience reviewing the work of junior professionals and providing technical guidance and coaching.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex technical matters into practical business advice.
  • Experience within a Big 4, national consulting, appraisal, or specialized property tax advisory environment is strongly preferred.
  • Professional designations such as CMI, CPA, ASA, MAI, CRE, JD, or equivalent are considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting clients within energy, infrastructure, industrial, renewable energy, or other asset-intensive industries is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States as required.
