CCTV Operator

As a CCTV Operator, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality inspection and cleaning services. Your responsibilities will include locating manholes using maps, carrying out confined space entry operations, and performing CCTV inspection and cleaning activities.


The role involves regular travel and offers a varied working environment for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and taking on new challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operating remote cameras that utilise CCTV to record interiors of various pipelines for inspections to determine if cleaning is needed (as well as what type) and if the pipe line is a candidate for lining 
  • Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs 
  • Locate manholes from a map 
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned
  • Operation and maintenance of all equipment
  • Performs all work tasks required to support execution of sewer maintenance, inspection and/or rehabilitation pipeline tasks
  • Repair various pipelines using a specific product and process 
  • Performs difficult skilled work supervising and participating in jetting of sewer lines and vactoring of manholes and lift station 
  • Assist with site setup, traffic management coordination, and confined space operations where required


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Surveyor within the drainage or utilities sector
  • Certified to WRC OS19X and OS21X (or equivalent recognised CCTV Survey accreditation)
  • Strong working knowledge of MSCC5 defect coding and condition grading
  • Confident in identifying structural defects, infiltration, root ingress, fractures, deformation, and service defects
  • Experience working in live sewer environments and understanding flow control practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary site team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid CSR Card (Northern Ireland) or Safe Pass (Republic of Ireland)
  • Full UK / Irish driving licence (essential)
  • Confined Space Training (Medium Risk or High Risk) desirable


Skills & Competencies

  • 1-year experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction
  • Strong communication skills
  • General knowledge of the operation of closed video camera equipment, and high pressure sewer cleaning equipment
