Hybrid F/T Correctional Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinician


MindCare Solutions, a clinician-owned and operated leader in comprehensive mental health care, is seeking a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), with LPC, LCSW, or LMFT also accepted, to provide high-quality mental health and substance use services within a corrections facility. Rate: negotiable

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday

Locations: Hybrid – virtual assessments plus periodic on-site/statewide coverage.

Position Summary:

  • Provide outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment to approximately 85 incarcerated individuals who have been identified as needing SUD treatment.
  • Facilitate daily SUD treatment groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, substance use education, and other clinically appropriate topics.
  • Provide individual SUD counseling based on each individual’s identified treatment needs, goals, and level of care.
  • Utilize the specialized curriculum provided by the SUD program to support consistent, evidence-based treatment delivery.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans, monitor progress toward treatment goals, and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including treatment notes, progress updates, and other required records.
  • Collaborate with clinical and program leadership and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and address patient needs.
  • Support continuity of care and appropriate treatment recommendations for individuals progressing through the SUD program.
  • Potentially participate in future Therapeutic Community aftercare services, including supporting individuals as they transition from structured treatment to ongoing recovery and community-based services.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
  • Preferred: Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS)
  • Also acceptable: LPC, LCSW or LMFT
  • Candidates without an addiction-specific credential must have demonstrated SUD and assessment experience
  • Experience performing SUD/ASAM assessments strongly preferred
  • Correctional experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working with incarcerated populations
  • Able/willing to travel to facilities as required
  • Must be able to meet background/security requirements
