Lead Implant & Surgery Assistant

Huntsville, Alabama | Morton Dental Group | Full-Time, 4-Day Workweek

Assist at the Highest Level of Dentistry

Morton Dental Group is a doctor-owned and doctor-led organization known for advanced implant and surgical dentistry. Our team holds itself to the highest standards in the region. We're growing, and we're looking for a skilled, experienced dental assistant to lead our implant and surgery department in Huntsville.

This isn't a typical assisting job. You'll be the doctor's right hand during surgery and implant placement, and you'll own the surgical process from start to finish: before the patient arrives, in the chair and after they go home. If you plan ahead, notice what others miss and take pride in a surgical day that runs perfectly, this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Assist chairside in surgery. Support the doctor during implant placement, All-on-X, extractions and other complex procedures, anticipating each step before it's needed.
  • Own surgical prep. Prepare rooms, instruments, equipment and materials so every case starts ready and runs smoothly.
  • Care for patients before and after surgery. Make pre-op and post-op calls, and give anxious patients comfort and reassurance at every stage.
  • Coordinate with labs. Manage case timelines and communication so restorations arrive on schedule.
  • Manage supplies. Keep surgical inventory stocked, organized and ordered ahead of demand.
  • Uphold back-of-house standards. Lead on infection control, sterilization, safety and clinical organization.
  • Lead and develop the team. Train and mentor assistants, support onboarding and help improve clinical systems and workflows.

What You Bring

  • Solid dental assisting experience, including oral surgery, implants or complex surgical cases
  • Confidence and skill working chairside with a doctor during surgery
  • Initiative, with a habit of planning ahead and solving problems before they happen
  • A strong sense of ownership and attention to detail
  • Warm, clear communication with patients, doctors and the team
  • A desire to lead, teach and keep growing

What You'll Get From Us

  • Real work-life balance: 4 clinical days, no nights and no weekends
  • A team-first culture where people support each other
  • High standards of patient care. We do things the right way.
  • Shared accountability. Everyone in our practices is held to the same standard.
  • Ongoing training and education, including advanced surgical learning
  • Real career development, with leadership opportunities in a growing organization
  • Life-changing cases. You'll help patients get their smiles, confidence and quality of life back.
  • Benefits: health, dental, vision and life insurance, plus a 401(k)
  • Paid time off
