About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Director of Operations to ensure every part of the organization is running efficiently behind the scenes. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role owns the full spectrum of internal operations from finance and compliance to people operations and technology. You’d be a great fit if you’re the person who notices when a system is broken and fixes it before anyone asks and finds genuine satisfaction in building the infrastructure that lets others do their best work.

This is a remote position. The role includes occasional travel, and working hours are 10AM–6PM ET regardless of location. We are not currently registered to do business in all locations. In particular, we are not currently accepting applicants based in Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, and Texas due to regulatory considerations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance across all organizational activities, outputs, and reporting obligations, including tracking and allocating shared expenses across entities with particular attention to IRS and campaign finance regulations.

  • Maintain corporate records, registrations, and filings in coordination with legal counsel.

Technology and AI

  • Manage IT infrastructure, software licensing, and account provisioning/deprovisioning for staff.
  • Own cybersecurity hygiene protocols and vendor relationships.
  • Work on the organization’s AI adoption strategy in partnership with the Research & Development team, ensuring tools are evaluated, piloted, and scaled in compliance with cybersecurity standards and organizational policy.

  • Ability to manage IT vendors and uphold organizational cybersecurity protocols
  • Comfort evaluating and implementing technology and AI tools in an organizational setting
  • Interest in the intersection of AI, emerging technology, and democratic politics, and enthusiasm for helping a progressive organization navigate that landscape thoughtfully
