Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

R3 Lithium operates North America's first commercial-scale lithium carbonate recovery facility, located in Covington, Georgia. The manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of the financial performance of the Company. The manager will partner with executive management and functional leaders to provide financial transparency, develop financial strategies, and provide insights to support the achievement of the Company’s strategic plan and goals. This role is responsible for financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, management reporting, and the annual strategic planning and budgeting process. The manager will also support Board and investor reporting, capital planning, and fundraising activities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive management team and key leaders of the organization to improve financial results and drive execution of the strategic plan.
  • Lead the annual budgeting, long-range planning, and forecasting processes, working closely with budget owners to develop financial plans aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Assess financial performance and provide insights on key performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and strategies to achieve established goals.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting, including variance analysis, business reviews, dashboards, KPIs, and project reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, including cash flow, liquidity, capital requirements, scenario analysis, and long-term financial projections.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and develop business cases to evaluate projects, investments, commercial opportunities, capital allocation, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support fundraising and financing activities through financial modeling, projections, scenario analysis, due diligence, and preparation of financial information for investors, lenders, and other financing partners.
  • Support preparation of Board and investor reporting, including financial performance, forecasts, capital requirements, key business drivers, and other financial analysis.
  • Conduct peer, industry, and market analysis to support planning assumptions, operating benchmarks, forecasts, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with functional leaders to identify key operational and financial metrics and develop data-driven insights to improve business decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, systems, and reporting, including automation of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Build and develop the FP&A function and team as the organization grows.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, and U.S. GAAP.
  • Ability to develop and communicate financial information for executive, Board, investor, and lender audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal daily direction and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP/financial systems; Power BI or other reporting tools a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A experience.

·        Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, production, plant, or factory environment.

  • Prior experience managing or leading an FP&A function.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, management reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting Board reporting, fundraising, financing, or investor-related activities strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a growth-stage, manufacturing, industrial, or capital-intensive business preferred.
  • ERP and QuickBooks Online experience a plus.
