At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.
We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day oversight of warehouse operations, with a specific focus on storage programs and customer storage contracts. This role leads receiving, put-away, inventory control, storage movements (ins/outs), and shipping while ensuring accurate WMS transactions, contract compliance (rates/terms/space), and timely, accurate storage billing.
Key Responsibilities
• Warehouse Operations Leadership: Supervise daily floor activities across receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and cycle counting; balance labour to meet service targets.
• Storage Programs & Contracts: Administer storage customer contracts (terms, accessorials, service levels, and notice requirements); ensure contract rules are followed for inbound/outbound appointments, handling, and release processes.
• Storage Billing & Reporting: Maintain accurate tracking for billable storage (e.g., pallet positions/square footage, dwell time, ins/outs, handling fees); validate billing inputs and support monthly invoicing with Finance.
• Inventory Accuracy: Drive inventory control standards (location discipline, labeling, quarantine/hold, variances, and adjustments); investigate and resolve discrepancies with root-cause actions.
• WMS Execution & Compliance: Ensure all movements are captured in the WMS in real time (receipts, transfers, picks, shipments, adjustments); coach staff on scan compliance and standard workflows; troubleshoot basic WMS issues and escalate appropriately.
• Customer Communication: Coordinate with internal teams and customers on receiving windows, storage access, releases, and exceptions; provide clear status updates on inventory availability and outbound readiness.
• Safety & Equipment: Enforce safe work practices, lift truck standards, and housekeeping; complete incident reporting and corrective actions; support equipment checks and maintenance coordination.
• People Leadership: Train and coach warehouse associates; conduct daily start-up huddles; reinforce performance expectations; support scheduling, timekeeping, and onboarding.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps and implement improvements (slotting, layout, standard work, 5S, and error-proofing) to reduce touches and improve accuracy and throughput.

• Strong working knowledge of inventory control practices (location discipline, cycle count programs, variance investigation).
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and comfort working in a warehouse environment (walking/standing, lifting, equipment traffic).
