How we will deliver success together:

We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer, with focus on frontend, to join our Billing, Fraud Prevention, & Insurance team. Our business is rapidly expanding, and we’re developing a best-in-class billing and payment processing system to support new products and pricing models. At the same time, fraud is rapidly increasing in the shipping industry, and we are looking for someone to help build fraud detection and prevention systems to protect ourselves and our customers from bad actors. As a full stack engineer on our team, you will work on APIs and customer facing features to improve their billing experience at Shippo.

Shipping & handling responsibilities

• Implement end-to-end (frontend, backend) solutions for new features and experiences
• Contribute to reusable components that enhance product consistency
• Participate in on-call support rotation
• Develop and lead execution against both short-term and long-term roadmaps
• Work with our product and design teams to refine the scope of new products and capabilities
• Collaborate with other engineers to create milestones that support product requirements
• Implement tools and telemetry to better understand technical and business impact

Your shipping requirements

• BSc in a STEM field, with a preference for computer science and software engineering or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in software development
• Experience working across both backend and frontend development, including APIs, services, databases, and modern UI frameworks
• Proficiency with React and Typescript
• Familiarity with python, django, SQL databases (Postgres), kubernetes
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
• A mindset of continuous learning, craftsmanship, and team success.

Bonus

• Experience with Go, AWS, billing and payment systems (Stripe)
• Experience with Claude Code and shipping AI powered features
