Description of Duties: 

Title: Staff Accountant

Classification: Non-Exempt 

Salary Range*: $35-$38 per hour

Location: Van Nuys, CA 

Schedule*: Hybrid, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM (in office a minimum of 3 days/week). May require extended hours during close or audit periods.


DÔEN is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Los Angeles. This hybrid position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. This role will collaborate cross-functionally to help drive accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, reconcile, and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Manage sales tax reporting and reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset records, calculate depreciation, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with established timelines.
  • Maintain the general ledger by ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented.
  • Perform daily bank and corporate credit card reconciliations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, properly supported, and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by analyzing sales, gross margin, and operating expenses.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support accounting initiatives, process improvements, audits, and other special projects as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems ( NetSuite, preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
