A Day in the Life:

  • Lead backend engineering for a healthcare claims platform, designing and building scalable .NET microservices architectures that support complex claims processing workflows and reimbursement cycles
  • Architect and develop React front-end experiences using Tailwind CSS and modern component libraries, delivering intuitive, high-performance interfaces for healthcare users
  • Design and govern AWS cloud architecture across serverless and containerized services — including Lambda, Fargate, and App Runner — ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment to enterprise standards
  • Oversee database design and optimization across AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redis, balancing relational and NoSQL data management strategies to meet performance and compliance requirements
  • Actively leverage AI tools to streamline tasks, improve the quality of your work, and share best practices with teammates while continuously seeking new ways to integrate AI into your everyday workflows
  • Lead DevOps and CI/CD practices including Docker containerization, AWS CDK infrastructure-as-code, CodePipeline automation, and blue/green deployment strategies
  • Define and enforce code quality standards across the engineering pod, implementing testing strategies using XUnit and Playwright alongside OWASP security practices
  • Monitor and maintain production system health leveraging NLog, CloudWatch, X-Ray, CloudTrail, and WAF, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact end users
  • Design robust data ingestion pipelines capable of handling multiple data feed types, ensuring data integrity and traceability across the claims platform
  • Serve as the technical authority for the engineering pod, mentoring developers, leading code reviews, and making sound architectural decisions aligned with business objectives
  • Partner with product, QA, and business stakeholders to translate healthcare claims requirements into technical solutions, communicating trade-offs and architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Drive sprint-based delivery within an agile framework, maintaining development velocity while upholding engineering standards through go-live and beyond
