Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and school. We coach educators and family members to help kids learn to read by 4th grade. Springboard envisions a world in which all children have the requisite literacy skills to access life opportunities.

The Cluster Leader will be responsible for leading Springboard programming across all school sites in their cluster. As part of their work, the Cluster Leader will supervise the Program Leaders and teachers in their cluster and will report to the Program Director. This is a great opportunity to support families and to help students accelerate their progress in learning to read.

Here are your responsibilities as a Springboard Cluster Leader:

Student Enrollment

• Monitor student enrollment; support sites if registration is below target enrollment
• Support student enrollment by ensuring complete records and waivers
• Manage family outreach plan to ensure students attend the first day of program
• Confirm that student information is accurate and waivers are signed

Staff Management & Coaching

• Facilitate weekly 1:1 meetings with Program Leaders
• Facilitate weekly city-wide or cohort meetings
• Attend weekly meetings with Springboard Program Director
• Lead or support PLC planning & implementation
• Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to teachers and/or Program Leaders
• Provide on-the-ground support, as applicable

Program Execution

• Monitor and manage Team Building Huddle completion
• Monitor and manage beginning & ending assessments
• Be the “Springboard expert” for your sites; support sites with curriculum implementation and family workshop preparation
• Monitor and coach toward high-quality instructional implementation
• Monitor and coach toward high-quality family engagement (workshops)
• Support the Program Leader in daily program execution activities

Data Management

• Ensure systems access for teachers and leaders (Okta, Connect, Raz, etc.)
• Review data in Connect (independent review to prep for 1:1, PLC, citywide meeting)
• Clean up and finalize data

Professional Learning & Collaboration

• Participate in Springboard’s training and professional development sessions
• Attend 1:1 check-ins with your manager to review metrics and determine strategic next steps
• Actively engage in weekly site-based Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
• Implement coaching feedback received from your manager
• Maintain regular communication with school leaders, assisting in planning and scheduling meetings with administrators
• Oversee collection of qualitative data throughout programming, including quotations and photos of programming in action

What you’ll bring to us

You are a visionary PreK-3rd grade literacy expert who is deeply committed to closing the literacy gap through collaboration, data, and community partnership. In this role, you will serve as an analytical problem-solver, leveraging your high-tech fluency and experience with data management and visualization systems to track student progress and drive program goals. Beyond your technical expertise, you are a supportive coach dedicated to helping your staff grow, an exceptional communicator and critical thinker, and a skilled relationship builder who fosters meaningful collaboration with families. If you are an organized leader who believes that collective hard work and strong family partnerships can transform student outcomes, we want you on our team. Experience with the Philadelphia School District is strongly preferred.

Commitment & Compensation

The Springboard Cluster Leader role is a temporary, part-time position with up to 110 total work hours over 15 weeks. The Springboard Cluster Leader must commit to on-the-ground support at Philadelphia schools during after-school hours. It requires 10 hours of pre-programming professional development. Employment terms coincide with student registration and the program dates set forth by the District.

The pay rate for Cluster Leaders is $55 per hour. Springboard Cluster Leaders are hired and paid directly by Springboard Collaborative.

Requirements

Employment is subject to the requirement of providing proof of state-required clearances and background checks. Applicants must have access to two forms of identification for I9 documentation, which is necessary for Springboard pay (e.g., state ID/passport, social security card/birth certificate).
