Associate Product Manager (APM) [Co-op]

Role Overview
Teifi Digital is seeking a motivated Associate Product Manager (APM) Intern to join our Product Team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in managing and optimizing the product lifecycle for innovative Shopify applications. You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to assist with product development, low/high fidelity mockups, and workflow mapping. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to learn how to manage a product from ideation to execution while directly influencing product strategy and user experience.


As an APM Intern, your main responsibilities will revolve around supporting product development efforts, managing product documentation, assisting with feature prioritization, and helping with customer-facing initiatives. You will contribute to both the strategic and tactical aspects of product management, ensuring that our applications meet customer needs and business goals.


As a subsidiary of Teifi Digital, Teifi Labs specializes in developing innovative Shopify applications tailored to meet complex merchant needs. We focus on creating solutions that enhance unified commerce experiences for businesses on the Shopify platform. Currently, we have two active applications in the Shopify App Store, along with hundreds of integrations and smaller apps developed by our team.


Key Responsibilities
QA Support (30%)

  • Participating in QA testing of new features and bug fixes, and validating functionality against acceptance criteria.
  • Identifying, reproducing, and clearly documenting issues with steps to replicate in tools like Linear.
  • Assisting with backlog grooming to ensure user stories are clear, detailed, and sprint-ready.
  • Solutioning for product requirements to ensure features are properly defined and actionable for the engineering team.
  • Helping ensure features are delivered on time by assisting with product backlog management.

Design (10%)

  • Creating mockups and wireframes to visualize product features and improve user experiences.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing) to ensure smooth product development and delivery.
  • Assisting in defining, documenting, and prioritizing product features and enhancements.

Product Development Support (40%)

  • Assist the product team in defining product features, creating user stories, and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Participate in backlog grooming sessions to ensure that the product backlog is up to date, well-prioritized, and ready for future sprints.
  • Help gather requirements for new features and improvements, working closely with engineering and design teams to define solutions.
  • Solution for requirements, working alongside cross-functional teams to ensure that product specifications are well-understood and actionable.
  • Assist in creating low-fidelity mockups and wireframes to visualize product features and user flows for both internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely product delivery.

Product Documentation & Knowledge Base (10%)

  • Support the creation and updating of product documentation, including demo videos, tutorials, and how-to guides for new and existing features.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate technical product features into user-friendly documentation.
  • Ensure that product documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for customers and internal teams.

Customer Insights & Support (10%)

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing customer feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Support the customer support team by analyzing product issues, helping track feature requests, and ensuring issues are addressed in future updates.
  • Help with the creation of customer personas and use cases to guide product development.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on customer-first solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex concepts into clear, concise documentation.
  • Basic understanding of product management principles and software development life cycles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Trello) is a plus.
  • Experience with creating low-fidelity mockups or wireframes (using tools like Figma, Sketch, or similar software) is a plus.

Differentiating Assets

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and product management processes.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms like Shopify and their integrations.
  • Hands-on experience in customer-facing roles or understanding customer needs.
  • Familiarity with documentation and knowledge base creation tools (e.g., Confluence).
  • An ability to take ownership of tasks and a willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
