Position Overview

The Beauty Team Leader is the frontline execution lead for the store’s Beauty area, primarily responsible for product merchandising, replenishment and recovery, expiration-date checks, Tester management, price labels, promotional display maintenance, stockroom organization, receiving support, area cleanliness, product recommendations, development of the Assistant Team Lead, and coaching of team members.


Under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Beauty Team Leader leads or supports employees in the assigned area in completing daily tasks, ensuring organized merchandising, accurate pricing, timely replenishment, cleanliness, and proper customer service.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Beauty Area Merchandising & Shelf Management
    1. Responsible for shelving products, front-facing and filling gaps, category merchandising, shelf organization, and maintaining full shelves in the Beauty area.
    2. Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed, price labels are accurate, and POP/promotional labels are clear and current.
    3. Promptly correct out-of-stocks, misplaced items, incorrect price labels, disorganized displays, and similar issues, and report them to the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
  2. Product Replenishment, Recovery & Inventory Feedback
    1. Complete daily replenishment, recovery, FIFO rotation, and product put-away as required.
    2. Monitor fast-selling items, out-of-stocks, slow-moving products, insufficient inventory, and excess stock; provide timely feedback and assist with adjustments.
    3. Keep aisles clear during replenishment; merchandise may not be placed directly on the floor, dragged, or allowed to obstruct customer traffic.
  3. Price Labels, Promotions & Promotional Display Maintenance
    1. Check that price labels are complete, centered, and legible, and ensure prices correspond to the correct products.
    2. Promptly remove or replace expired promotional, sale, POP, or promotional-display materials and confirm restoration.
    3. Support display adjustments for new products, promotions, and priority merchandise to improve the customer browsing and shopping experience.
  4. Product Expiration & Tester Management
    1. Check expiration dates of Beauty products as required and monitor near-expiration, damaged, contaminated, spoiled, or otherwise unsellable products.
    2. Maintain Tester cleanliness, placement, barcode covering, records, and disposal to prevent incorrect scanning, accidental sale, or management errors.
    3. Any expired product or Tester exception must be immediately removed from the sales floor, documented, and reported.
  5. Promotion Execution & Merchandising Optimization
    1. Execute Beauty promotions, new-product displays, priority-product promotions, and promotional-display adjustments.
    2. Monitor Beauty sales performance, customer feedback, fast-selling and slow-moving products, and recommend merchandising adjustments.
    3. Help ensure timely updates to promotional displays, sale labels, POP materials, promotional displays, and shelf presentations.
  6. Customer Service & Product Recommendations
    1. Lead by example in proactively welcoming customers, greeting them with a smile, and providing friendly service.
    2. Be familiar with priority products, new products, best sellers, and basic selling points within the area and provide basic product recommendations.
    3. Promptly escalate customer complaints, returns/exchanges, negative feedback, or issues that cannot be resolved.
  7. Team Member Coaching & On-site Execution Oversight
    1. Coach new employees in the area and help them learn product locations, replenishment standards, service language, and work processes.
    2. Assign team member tasks appropriately and oversee replenishment, recovery, cleanliness, price labels, stockroom organization, and related work.
    3. Promptly address and report team member issues involving discipline, service, execution, or teamwork.
  8. Work Records & Issue Feedback
    1. Participate in opening and closing meetings and communicate area priorities, promotions, replenishment arrangements, and corrective actions.
    2. Complete or assist with work records, expiration records, receiving-exception records, and corrective-action feedback on time.
    3. Assist the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager in analyzing recurring issues and driving corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma / vocational secondary school or above.
  • Professional Experience: Experience in retail, supermarkets, convenience stores, beauty, collectible/toy retail, lifestyle retail, or service industries is preferred; candidates without experience may be trained.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Familiar with or willing to learn product merchandising, replenishment and recovery, price labels, expiration management, customer service, cleanliness, receiving organization, and basic work records.
  • Core Competencies: Strong execution and sense of responsibility, good service and attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork skills.


Compensation

  • $21 per hour + quarterly performance bonus
