Position Snapshot: Business-first HR partner supporting airport-based operations with a focus on employee relations, leave and accommodation administration, policy guidance, compliance, and culture building. This role is ideal for a personable, professional HR practitioner who can answer day-to-day employee questions, work collaboratively with leadership, and help create a positive employee experience.

About this Role

The Human Resources Business Partner provides a hands-on, business-oriented approach to human resources support for airport-based operations and leadership. This individual serves as a trusted resource to employees and managers by helping interpret company policies, supporting compliance with Washington employment laws and regulations, and assisting with the day-to-day employee matters that keep operations running smoothly.

This role will be responsible for employee relations support, leave and accommodation coordination, policy communication, onboarding partnership, compliance guidance, and culture-building initiatives. The ideal candidate is approachable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working with people across all levels of the organization. This is not an enforcement-only HR role; it is a partnership role that requires professionalism, sound judgment, and a team-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a business-first HR partner and point of contact for employee and manager questions regarding policies, practices, and workplace concerns.

Provide guidance and support related to employee accommodations, leave administration, and FMLA processes, ensuring matters are handled professionally and with appropriate confidentiality.

Help interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment laws, with particular attention to Washington labor laws and regulations.

Partner with leadership to promote a positive workplace culture built on professionalism, accountability, and employee support.

Support onboarding, employee communications, and HR process execution for airport-based operations.

Respond to routine and complex employee questions in a timely, service-oriented manner.

Assist with policy adherence, documentation, and HR best practices while balancing employee experience with business needs.

Collaborate closely with operations leadership and internal stakeholders to resolve people-related issues in a practical and constructive way.

Contribute to employee engagement and retention efforts by being a visible, positive, and solutions-driven HR presence.

Maintain accurate records and support HR compliance processes, audits, and reporting as needed.

What We Offer You

Team members will start between $83,000 and $88,000 per year. All full-time employees deemed eligible under the Affordable Care Act may participate in medical, dental, and vision insurances. All qualified team members are eligible and will automatically be enrolled in a matching 401(k). Paid time off in the form of vacation and sick days will also be made available.

This position is expected to be on site approximately 3 to 5 days per week based on business needs and operational requirements.

Who Will Be Most Successful In This Role

Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Approximately 3 to 5 years of human resources experience in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Administrator, or similar employee-facing HR role.

Experience supporting employee accommodations, FMLA, and related employee relations matters.

Working knowledge of Washington employment laws, regulations, and HR compliance requirements.

A professional, personable, and team-oriented approach with the ability to build trust across the organization.

Strong communication skills and the ability to answer employee and manager questions clearly, confidently, and with sound judgment.

Comfort working in a fast-paced, operational environment with both structure and flexibility.

Ability to balance policy consistency with a practical, people-focused mindset.

Prior recruiting experience is a plus and will be considered.

Experience in airport, hospitality, transportation, or other high-touch operational environments is a plus.

Candidates who live reasonably close to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are strongly preferred.

Additional Considerations

To work, you must provide necessary documentation to prove employment authorization in the United States.

This role requires eligibility to obtain airport and/or government-related credentials, including any clearance, badge, or access requirements established by the work site.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and must be able to pass a 100% clear background check required for badging and site access. A DUI may be considered acceptable depending on review; other disqualifying background issues may prevent clearance.

Post-offer background checks, badging steps, and any required screenings must be successfully completed before starting work.
