Role: Plant Production Manager

FLSA: Full Time / Non-Exempt/ Hourly




The Plant Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day production operations of Warrior Precast, LLC, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with established quality standards, production schedules, customer requirements, and company expectations. This position provides hands-on leadership across the plant and is accountable for production performance, workforce coordination, quality, safety, equipment readiness, material utilization, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a practical, visible, and accountable leader who understands manufacturing and production environments, can effectively manage people and priorities, and is comfortable working directly with employees on the plant floor. The Plant Production Manager should be proactive in identifying problems, removing operational barriers, and developing a culture of ownership, safety, teamwork, quality, and productivity.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily plant production activities and ensure work is organized and executed according to production schedules, customer commitments, and operational priorities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor production workflow from preparation and staging through completion, inspection, storage, and readiness for shipment or installation.
  • Establish clear daily expectations for production employees, communicate priorities, and ensure adequate staffing and resources are available to meet production requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop production employees while reinforcing company policies, work standards, attendance expectations, and performance requirements.
  • Monitor employee productivity and work performance; address performance concerns promptly and partner with Human Resources on coaching, corrective action, and other employee-relations matters when appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence and actively engage with employees to identify obstacles, improve workflow, and reinforce safe and productive work practices.
  • Ensure production work is completed accurately and consistently in accordance with drawings, specifications, established procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Identify production delays, bottlenecks, rework, scrap, material shortages, equipment issues, and other operational barriers; take corrective action and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Scheduling, Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure production requirements are clearly understood and operationally achievable.
  • Manage material flow and inventory usage within the plant, helping ensure required materials, forms, tools, equipment, and supplies are available when needed while minimizing waste.
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service needs to reduce downtime and maintain safe operating conditions.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and efficient production areas, including appropriate storage of materials, tools, equipment, and finished products.
  • Support implementation and enforcement of safety procedures, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards, and applicable OSHA and company safety expectations.
  • Investigate production, quality, safety, and process issues and implement practical corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, checklists, and other operational documentation as required.
  • Track key production indicators such as output, schedule attainment, labor utilization, downtime, rework, scrap, quality issues, and other measures established by leadership.
  • Participate in production planning, capacity discussions, staffing decisions, process improvements, and operational problem-solving.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, equipment, staffing, workflow, training, and plant organization that improve productivity, quality, safety, or cost control.
  • Ensure employees receive appropriate training for assigned duties and that employees understand the quality, safety, and production expectations associated with their roles.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support onboarding, training, attendance management, employee development, investigations, documentation, and other people-management processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, precast concrete, construction production, industrial operations, or a closely related environment; supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead production employees in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production workflow, scheduling, labor utilization, quality control, materials, equipment, and plant operations.
  • Ability to read and understand production documents, work instructions, drawings, specifications, measurements, and related technical information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA-related expectations.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, email, production records, and business systems.


Work Conditions

This is a hands-on, on-site plant leadership position. The employee must be comfortable spending significant time in a manufacturing environment and regularly walking throughout production areas. The role may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, and working around industrial equipment, concrete products, tools, dust, noise, varying temperatures, and outdoor conditions.
