Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on Recruiting Team Manager to lead, coach, and continue to develop a high-performing recruiting team.
KPI of this individual would be the total FTE hires for the full recruiting team per quarter
This role functions as a player/coach model that will balance leadership responsibilities with modified individual recruiting KPIs. The ideal candidate is deeply data-driven, technically proficient, and capable of leveraging analytics and system insights to drive recruiting performance, optimize sourcing strategies, and resolve operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead daily recruiting team standups, ensuring alignment on hiring priorities, sourcing strategies, and team goals.
- Conduct recurring 1:1 meetings with recruiters to review metrics, discuss performance trends, and co-create individualized data-informed coaching plans with the help of Recruitment Team Lead that enhance sourcing efficiency and placement outcomes.
- Recruiting metric reporting and interpretation of these reports fall to the responsibility of this manager.
- Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable recruiting culture rooted in transparency and continuous improvement.
- Serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor, maintaining a modified requisition load while supporting the broader team.
- This individual will be expected to field questions from SLT and other stakeholders
Recruiting Operations & Metrics Management
- Own and manage team-level KPIs, including sourcing output, candidate conversion ratios, and time-to-fill metrics.
- Develop and maintain recruiter performance dashboards via ATS reports, Google Sheets and Metabase, tracking real-time data across sourcing productivity and hiring funnel health.
- Partner with leadership to ensure recruiting metrics align with organizational hiring objectives and forecasted headcount goals.
- Leverage analytics to diagnose performance gaps, identify process bottlenecks, and implement scalable, data-backed solutions.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Build, maintain, and automate reporting dashboards in Metabase, ATS, Google Sheets or Excel, utilizing advanced formulas (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.). This individual will work closely on projects with VP of Network operations to build inter-team reporting systems.
- Lead ongoing analysis of sourcing channels, recruiter efficiency, and candidate engagement data to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and deliver regular reports and insights on team and individual recruiter performance to senior leadership.
- Utilize meta reporting and network utilization data to optimize recruiter reach and enhance sourcing strategy effectiveness.
Technical Troubleshooting & Vendor Management
- Act as the first point of escalation for all recruiting system issues, integrations, and data inconsistencies across tools (ATS, CRM, sourcing platforms, and analytics dashboards).
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to the recruiting team, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent access to critical tools.
- Collaborate closely with internal operations, IT, and external vendor support teams to resolve escalated issues in a timely manner.
- Manage relationships and communication with third-party recruiting tool vendors, overseeing ticket submissions, bug tracking, and resolution follow-up.
- Identify recurring system issues or gaps, recommending enhancements or automation opportunities to improve team efficiency.
Hands-On Recruiting
- Maintain a reduced individual requisition load, contributing directly to critical or high-priority hiring needs.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role profiles, sourcing strategies, and assessment processes that align with business needs.
- Drive an exceptional candidate experience throughout every stage of the hiring lifecycle.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 1–2 years in a leadership or player/coach capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improve recruiter performance through data, coaching, and operational efficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc).
- Experience troubleshooting and managing issues across multiple recruiting platforms (e.g., ATS, CRM, job boards, analytics dashboards).
- Strong technical aptitude able to diagnose and communicate system or integration issues with vendors and support teams.
- Proven success in report building, metric analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-growth or distributed recruiting environment.
- Familiarity with vendor relationship management, ticketing systems, and issue escalation workflows.
- Understanding of meta reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., metabase, retool, etc).
- Demonstrated ability to translate recruiting data into actionable insights that drive team performance and efficiency.
