About The Role
The Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for processing, verifying and maintaining the enrollment of mental health therapists for managed care plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid programs. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of provider credentialing, knowledge of behavioral health licensing requirements and a strong understanding of government insurance programs. This role ensures accuracy and compliance with internal policies as well as guidelines established by regulatory agencies.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate the end-to-end enrollment process for behavioral health professionals (LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs and PhDs) in Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid programs.
- Ensure all required documentation is accurate and included (licenses, NPI, forms, etc.) in the enrollment submission process and submitted within the required timeframes.
- Track the status of applications and follow up with CMS MACs (Medicare Administrative Contractors), PAVE, etc. as needed.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with CMS regulations, including revalidation deadlines and PECOs updates.
- Maintain accurate provider records in internal databases.
- Maintains confidentiality of provider information.
- Work with internal teams for enrollment with commercial payers.
- Respond to inquiries from providers and internal departments regarding enrollment status
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 3 years experience of behavioral health enrollment with payers
- Familiarity with PECOS, CMS-855 forms, and Medicare enrollment procedures.
- Experience with provider credentialing and/or payer enrollment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analysis and resolution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships providers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
