As a member of the NPH Team, the Prep Cook contributes to an excellent guest experience by ensuring all ingredients and prep items are prepared accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The Prep Cook supports the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and consistent food quality throughout all preparation processes.
Essential Functions
- Prepares, portions, and labels ingredients according to standardized recipes and instructions.
- Ensures all prep areas and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and organized according to company policies and OSHA standards.
- Practices safe handling, storage, and rotation of all food items (FIFO), ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Assists line cooks and chefs with basic preparation tasks as needed.
- Maintains proper labeling and dating of all prepared items according to safety guidelines.
- Follows all kitchen procedures to uphold quality standards for food consistency.
- Supports receiving and storage of deliveries, including stocking, rotating, and verifying product quality.
- Communicates any product shortages or equipment issues to kitchen leadership promptly.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the USA.
- High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- 0–2 years of related kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to follow directions, complete repetitive tasks efficiently, and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
