Novella is building AI to protect the largest, most complicated assets in the world. Whether it's a rocket going to space or a skyscraper on the coast, Novella is building the first AI powered specialty insurance brokerage.

The Role

We're seeking a Head of Analytics to build our business intelligence and analytics infrastructure from the ground up. You'll design the data architecture, tracking mechanisms, and reporting systems that will power decision-making across Novella.

This is a foundational role. We need someone who has built BI systems from scratch before and understands how to create scalable analytics infrastructure that will grow with us.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in data engineering and analytics with a strategic mindset.

The Day to Day

• Design and build our analytics infrastructure from scratch - data pipelines, warehousing, transformation layers, and reporting tools.
• Build and implement the most advanced AI tools to help generate insights based on our data
• Create dashboards and reporting systems that give leadership and teams real-time visibility into key metrics.
• Partner with engineering to implement proper data structures and event tracking across our platform.
• Help management continuously track and report on key metrics of the business.
• Build self-serve analytics capabilities that empower teams to answer their own questions.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years in analytics, data engineering, or BI roles, with experience building analytics infrastructure from scratch.
• Deep expertise in modern data stack tools - warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), transformation (dbt), orchestration (Airflow, Dagster), and visualization (Looker, Tableau, Metabase).
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a passion for using them to build faster and smarter.
• Experience in insurance, fintech, or another regulated industry is a plus but not required.
