Operations Manager (Part Time)

Novella is the first AI native insurance brokerage protecting some of the largest, most complicated physical assets in the world. Whether it’s sky scrapers on the Miami coast exposed to hurricanes, or rockets going to Mars - Novella’s specialty AI agents are trained to help insurance brokers find coverage for their highest-risk customers.

These high-risk customers are part of a $150 Billion per year market segment called Excess and Surplus (E&S) Insurance. Today, all $150B of E&S premium is sold manually by humans working with humans. Novella is the first brokerage building AI agents that can augment humans and superpower them.

The Role

We're seeking a part time Operations Manager to be the backbone of our Israel office. You'll manage everything that keeps the team running smoothly - from office logistics and employee onboarding to team events and culture building. This role is critical to helping Novella attract and retain top engineering talent in one of the most competitive startup ecosystems in the world.

You're the kind of person who notices what's broken before anyone complains, plans events that people actually want to attend, and builds systems that scale as the team grows. You care deeply about culture and understand that the small things - how you welcome a new hire, how the office feels, how the team celebrates wins - are what turn a good company into a great one.

You'll also play a key role in building Novella's engineering brand within the Israeli startup ecosystem. That means helping us show up at the right events, tell our story, and make sure the best engineers in the country know who we are and want to work here.

The Day to Day

  • Manage office logistics for our Israel site - from workspace setup and vendor relationships to supplies and day-to-day operations.
  • Own the employee onboarding process end-to-end, ensuring every new hire has an exceptional first experience at Novella.
  • Support recruiting efforts by coordinating interviews, managing candidate pipelines, and helping hiring managers stay organized.
  • Plan and execute team events, offsites, and social activities - own the team social budget and make it count.
  • Help build Novella's engineering brand in the Israeli startup ecosystem through meetups, sponsorships, content, and community engagement.
  • Manage employee logistics including benefits administration, equipment, and HR coordination.
  • Be the go-to person for the Israel team when something needs to get done and there's no obvious owner.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of operations, office management, or people operations experience at a startup or tech company in Israel.
  • Experience with recruiting coordination or talent operations - you know how to keep a hiring pipeline moving.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - you juggle multiple workstreams without dropping anything.
  • A natural culture builder - you care about team dynamics and know how to create an environment where people do their best work.
  • Familiarity with the Israeli startup ecosystem and what it takes to stand out as an employer brand.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
  • Someone flexible who understands every day at an early stage startup is like a decade in the corporate world. We move quickly and do whatever needs to get done no matter your title.
