About the role
The Activities Manager is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing person-centered care activities and events for residents, as well as resident transportation. The Activities Manager is responsible to provide a homelike social and physical environment; to assess resident’s strengths, to identify resident’s needs and provide services that promote each resident’s highest level of physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. In addition, they are responsible for the selection, training and supervision of Activities team members.

Sunday - Thursday, full time
Compensation
$21.21-$25.95/hour
What you'll do
- Leads in the organization in the coordination of resident activities and events, as well as any support needed during the activities or events.
- Ensures required staff and materials are available and prepared for events or activities.
- Ensures recreation funds are used effectively and efficiently for the improvement of resident experience and resident relationships.
- Evaluates the success of each activity, event, or outing and identifies opportunities for improvement in the future.
- Develops and maintains accounting records for assigned programs, events, activities, and outings.
- Identifies and negotiates with a variety of vendors to solicit discount opportunities for residents.
- Develops and maintains relationships with vendors used in events, activities, outings, and discount programs for employees.
- Transport residents to, and pick-up from, doctor’s offices, banks, restaurants, markets, food banks, etc.
- Assist passengers, including residents who utilize a motorized scooter, in and out of the van.
- Maintain vehicle, purchase fuel and supplies, prepare reports and other records that are requested by management.
- Interact with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident's health to management as appropriate.
- Ensure all vehicle license plates, inspection tags, and insurance cards are current and displayed properly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of all vehicles.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work when needed, especially evenings, weekends, or early mornings.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- AA or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, human services, healthcare, or related fields or combination of education preferred
- Experience supervising others in a senior living or hospitality environment.
- Minimum five to seven years of experience in senior living, healthcare, or related industry.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
