The Role

The Director of Operations and Player Care will oversee and coordinate all administrative and operational aspects of the team for technical staff and players. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this individual will play an integral role in ensuring seamless operations across all levels of the sporting organization. This role will manage all responsibilities associated with team operations, including housing, travel, scheduling, player logistics, compliance, and matchday operations. This individual will be a key connector between players, staff, league officials, and external partners, helping to establish excellent standards in soccer operations for a new club entering the NWSL in 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of functional operators, including administration, player care, and equipment
  • Work with the General Manager and other department heads to establish and maintain a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Build and oversee processes and procedures around travel planning, housing relocation, immigration/VISA support, player care, and onboarding/offboarding procedures
  • Coordinate daily team schedules, including training sessions, meals, team events, and community appearances
  • Develop strong working relationships with vendors, service providers, and other key stakeholders to support team needs
  • Plan and execute detailed travel itineraries for away games, including the transportation, lodging, meals, and training facilities
  • Collaborate with the stadium and facilities teams to ensure all operations for home games, including locker room setup, credential distribution, and referee coordination
  • Serve as the club’s primary liaison with the NWSL league office and other NWSL teams on operational matters
  • Manage the execution of player registration, transfers, and compliance processes in collaboration with league officials
  • Serve as a liaison to visiting teams, referees, and league officials on game days 
  • Assist with preseason scheduling, training trips, and interdepartmental coordination
  • Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans for training, match day, and travel scenarios
  • Support players’ family logistics, including visits, accommodations, and day-to-day needs


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of leading an operations team in an elite sporting environment
  • Experience of coordinating all aspects of soccer operations, including player logistics, travel, and scheduling 
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and adaptable management style
  • Strong grasp of NWSL rules and compliance procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks
  • Ability to manage budgets, allocate, and maximize resources
  • Ability to perform and provide clear leadership while juggling multiple responsibilities
  • Proactive problem solver with a service-oriented mindset. Able to anticipate challenges in soccer operations and take ownership of outcomes
