The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is one of the fastest-growing professional sports leagues in the U.S., powered by 16 clubs and a deep roster of the world’s best players, and built on record-shattering fan, media and commercial growth. Now in its 13th season, the league’s momentum continues to accelerate, with viewership and attendance numbers growing rapidly, social media fandom on the rise, team valuations massively increasing and new top sponsors investing in the NWSL brand.
This unprecedented growth in audience, media reach, and franchise value reflects the NWSL’s expanding fan base and increasing dominance in the sports-media landscape and popular culture. The future of the NWSL is now — and we’re looking for world-class talent like you to help us continue the momentum.
As a Director, Technical Product Management, you will help bring our digital transformation strategy to life by translating our business goals and objectives into the technical infrastructure, platforms, and tooling that power our products, which range from internal systems to in-game technology and consumer-facing digital surfaces.
This role demands both strategic thinking and hands-on technical engagement—you'll need to understand the architecture deeply enough to make informed platform selection decisions, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and work across a number of vendors.
We're looking for a business-minded technologist who can operate across the full stack. You should be equally comfortable discussing API design, data strategy, product design and ROI with cross-functional team members and executives. A strong technical product, engineering or project management background is essential, as you'll be working on complex platform products, data sharing and emerging technologies.
Roadmap Execution: Responsible for delivering against the digital product roadmap to support the growth of the league and its clubs, working cross-functionally across the league and its clubs and with external partners and vendors.
Technical Input: Evaluating which technologies the league should adopt to meet our goals, which include everything from engaging fans at the top of the funnel to finding operational efficiencies through the use of AI, API-driven architecture and/or centralized platform components.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitating communication between non-technical departments (Marketing, Sponsorship, Legal) and technical teams (Engineering, UX/UI Design) to align on priorities, requirements and end-user responsibilities.
Building the Future Platform of the League: Leading the day-to-day maintenance and optimization of the NWSL digital ecosystem; partnering with internal teams and third-party vendors to execute updates to the league website, mobile apps, and fan-facing tools to ensure peak performance and stability.
In addition to working in an incredible, inclusive, and committed-to-diversity culture, we offer:
