JOB DESCRIPTION
The Industrial Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for developing a customer base and helping grow OBR's Industrial group nationwide. OBR's focus is on maintenance and repair of industrial facilities, EPC Contractors and plant expansions are also of interest.  The initial focus will be on pumps and pumping systems, vibration analysis and repair, coatings, and walking/working surfaces associated with commercial and industrial facilities. 
The goal will be to increase OBR's industrial offerings as the company grows. The ISR will work directly with the VP of Sales and Business Development/Marketing Managers to expand relationships with existing customers and grow new industrial business throughout the continental US.
 
The successful candidate will prospect and qualify opportunities, meet with customers to discuss industrial needs, inspect facilities, perform take-offs, prepare estimates and proposals, and follow up with customers to support the sales function. He/she must effectively communicate information to clients to ultimately close business and develop partnerships. 
This position requires travel based on business needs as well as time in the office managing administrative tasks required for sales and estimating activities.  This is a salaried position with potential for additional performance-based compensation, including commission.
 
ROLES/TASKS OF THE POSITION
- Targeted growth of OBR industrial business including identifying targets for new business in the region.
- Working closely with current and potential customers to understand industrial project needs.
- Performing field assessments and field take-offs. Photo document field conditions and assist with execution plans.
- Create project estimates and assist with proposal development.
- Follow up with customers throughout the sales process.
- Collaboration with others within the organization, including design/drafting, project engineering, safety, quality and accounting.
- Maintaining customer satisfaction in region; identify and resolve customer questions.
- Providing technical support; troubleshooting technical and site process issues.
- Developing strategies for quoting opportunities.
- Visiting sites as needed for quoting and proposal development.
- Assess specific site access and safety requirements and communicate them with OBR construction and safety teams.
- Assist with scheduling of jobs and crews in assigned region; manage the schedule and communicate to customer crew assigned, dates, times, and expectations.
- Enter customer and project information into OBR's CRM system (Dynamics) and maintain opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Assist with the development of site-specific safety and quality documentation.
- Develop professional relationships with customers including plant and facility management.
- Represent OBR at meetings, trainings, trade shows, etc.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or another technical field. Mechanical engineer preferred. Education can be replaced with practical field experience. 
- At least 10-years of field industrial experience for non-degreed personnel.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics.
- Industrial/mechanical experience including knowledge of pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, etc).
- Basic understanding and experience with vibration analyses on pumping systems. Has used tools such as FFT analyzers, laser alignment systems, flow measurement devices (ultrasonic) and is able to interpret data.
- Field knowledge of mounting, aligning, repairing, and maintaining pumping systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Self-starter with willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute, work with a sense of urgency.
- Possess strong ability to connect with technical customers and develop relationships.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- This position requires work in both office and field (industrial plant) environments.
- Overnight travel required.
- Working in hot, humid environments.  Willing to visit and work (short term) in industrial environments including power plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities.
- Must be able to safely climb structures/work at heights. Includes wearing fall protection harness and other fall protection devices.
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing (stairs and structures), and stooping.
- Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or paper copy.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Prerequisites/Requirements:
- Negative 10 panel urinalysis, breath alcohol test, and hair follicle test to access customer sites.
- Valid Driver's License and Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Background check.
