About the role

Job Title: Field Service Controls Engineer
Entity: OpEx Service, LLC

Location/Territory: Remote/100% Travel, Wisconsin residents encouraged to apply

Job Type: FT, Salaried

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Budgeted Pay Range: $85,000-$95,000

What you'll do

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ovens and CNC machine tools
  • Perform audits, preventive maintenance, and retrofits on thermal equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Work with Allen Bradley PLCs, I/O modules, servo motors, and feedback systems
  • Provide on-site customer support, training, and service documentation
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal team members
  • Represent On Point Holdings and our manufacturers with professionalism and urgency

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair
  • Experience with CNC machinery and thermal processing equipment is a plus
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and control systems
  • Ability to travel extensively (Monday–Friday nationwide)
  • Comfortable working independently in customer-facing roles
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics, and use precision tools
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Positive attitude, high work ethic, and professional demeanor

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions. 
  • Must be able to lift and transport marketing materials or small equipment (up to 40 lbs). 
  • Comfortable with working from a home office and maintaining consistent communication with internal teams.
  • Willingness to attend industry trade shows, customer events, and dealer training sessions, as needed. 
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory; occasional overnight travel may be required (role specific).  
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate customer and dealer schedules across time zones (role specific).
  • Familiarity with sales pipeline tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and ability to maintain accurate records (role specific).

Working Conditions

This role supports a collaborative, fast-paced work environment across remote, field, and technical settings. For positions that allow it, we operate as a remote-first company, encouraging flexibility and digital connection. Field sales and service roles involve regular travel, independent decision-making, and direct interaction with machinery or customers. Some positions may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely navigate to industrial or outdoor sites.
