Position Summary


The Applications Engineer serves as a subject-matter expert on DNE Laser USA equipment, with a specific focus on welding and tube laser applications. This role partners with customers, sales teams, and service staff to deliver technical training, applications development, and process improvements. The Applications Engineer also supports sales by conducting demonstrations, processing customer samples, and developing new cutting and welding processes.


Typical Scope

  • Provides customer training, advanced technical support, and applications development on DNE Laser equipment.
  • Leads machine demonstrations at trade shows, develops operating parameters and cutting technology for new models, and serves as the subject-matter expert in metal fabrication practices for cutting, bending, and welding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver operator training classes at DNE Laser USA headquarters and customer facilities.
  • Provide on-site applications process development and timely phone support.
  • Create professional training resources, including video-based content, for customers and service engineers
  • Develop parameters and standard operating procedures for machine tool operation.
  • Lead process improvements in cutting, bending, and welding practices.
  • Serve as a key resource for developing and testing new cutting or welding technologies for upcoming machine models.
  • Conduct machine demonstrations for customer at DNE Laser facility, customer sites, and trade show events.
  • Process customer sample parts to support new sales opportunities.
  • Partner with sales teams to position DNE Laser USA as the trusted expert in metal fabrication applications.
  • Represent DNE Laser USA and its partners with the highest level of integrity, effort, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and technical success.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience in CNC machine tools, metal fabrication, or industrial automation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement process solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to train and influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience creating and delivering training content, including video-based resources.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for customer training, trade shows, and sales events.

Annual compensation range: $85,000 – $100,000

This role supports a collaborative, fast-paced work environment across remote, field, and technical settings. For positions that allow it, we operate as a remote-first company, encouraging flexibility and digital connection. Field sales and service roles involve regular travel, independent decision-making, and direct interaction with machinery or customers. Some positions may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely navigate industrial or outdoor sites.
