2025 Dance Competition Tour Team- Awards Coordinator

The awards coordinator is responsible for collecting all scores during the event and preparing all awards for each awards ceremony. The awards coordinator will be responsible for working with the OneBeat Scoring System to view all scores and prepare all necessary awards. While receiving scores, the awards coordinator will label and bag each adjudicated pin award. They will also be responsible for labeling and bagging each judges’ award ribbon and plate (if applicable). Finally, they will need to organize the overall awards for that session (plates for groups, and medals for solos, duos, and trios) and any corresponding paperwork (like cash prizes, scholarships, and opening number invitations). They will also work alongside the event director(s) to finalize ALL studio awards before the final group awards ceremony. For each awards ceremony, the awards coordinator will be responsible for double checking the emcee sheet, and working alongside the backstage team to ensure all items are handed out correctly during the awards ceremony. Additionally, at the start of each day, the awards coordinator will greet studio directors, parents, students, etc. and check-in each studio representative for the event at the info booth. The awards coordinator will also assign dressing rooms for each event, based on student counts per studio. Upon approval from the event director(s), they will hang up any applicable signage around the venue.

Responsibilities of this position include: 

  1. Set-up of awards station, including but not limited to, the awards cases backstage and the check-in booth in the lobby 
  2. Assist the backstage team with stage set up. 
  3. Assign all dressing rooms for the event, based on student count and available spaces.
  4. Hang all event-related signage (doors open signs, staff only signs, dressing room signs, other directional signs, etc.) 
  5. Welcome studio directors and answer questions at the check-in booth for the first portion of each competition day, and give them any necessary check-in items (programs, passes, and any applicable gifts) 
  6. Label and bag adjudicated award pins. 
  7. Label and bag judges’ award ribbons and plates.
  8. Organize, label, and prepare overall awards for each division, either plates (groups) or medals (solos, duos, and trios). 
  9. Organize, label, and prepare all awards paperwork (cash prizes, scholarships, and opening number invitations). 
  10. Collect all photogenic entries and alert onsite directors when they are ready to be presented to the judges. 
  11. Coordinate with the event director(s) to select, organize, label, and prepare all studio awards including the Groove/Reverb Awards. 
  12. Review and export each awards ceremony emcee sheet and alert onsite directors of any export issues.
  13. Work alongside backstage crew to conduct each awards ceremony, preparing each award item to be handed out by the backstage crew. 
  14. Export all necessary awards documents from the system at the conclusion of each event and return USB drive to the event director(s). 
  15. Breakdown awards station and info booth after event has concluded. 
  16. Fill out inventory sheet as needed for events on a long haul.  
  17. Capture content for social or contribute to content channels
  18. Attend all mandatory training sessions. 
  19. Comply with all policies and procedures included in the employee handbook. 
  20. Adhere to any other duties assigned by event director or designee.

The pay range for this role is:

190 - 295 USD per day (Remote)
