Work you'll do:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager is positioned at the interface between Honest Paws’ product teams and our manufacturing partners. The role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing co-manufacturer relationships, and recommending product innovations based on improving technology. The position requires an interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the market in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces.
  • Identify changes in buyer and supplier power within core ingredients and materials and use industry dynamics to Honest Paws’ advantage.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging components to third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses to ensure timely product availability and inventory accuracy.
  • Work directly with freight brokers and transportation partners to schedule and manage freight shipments from contract manufacturers to warehouse locations, while optimizing cost, transit times, and delivery performance.
  • Partner closely with the company’s 3PL providers to ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved, including order fulfillment accuracy, inventory count accuracy, lost-order resolution, replacement-order processing, and returned-order management.
  • Monitor and improve warehouse and fulfillment performance metrics through regular reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning with logistics and warehouse partners.
  • Act as the primary operational liaison between freight providers, and 3PL partners to proactively resolve supply chain and fulfillment issues that could impact customer experience or inventory availability.
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure business objectives are met, including the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
  • Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence Honest Paws’ future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
  • Assess and mitigate risks to the business. Manage supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of the leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 3–4 years of experience in supply chain or operations in a consumer-goods company (pet, food, beverage, nutraceutical, or supplement preferred).
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, including oversight of fulfillment performance, inventory accuracy, returns processing, and service-level KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of domestic freight coordination, including experience working with freight brokers, carriers, and contract manufacturers to manage inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ability to analyze and improve logistics and fulfillment performance metrics, including on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory reconciliation, and freight cost management.
  • Working familiarity with FDA, cGMP, and (preferred) NASC requirements applicable to pet products.
  • Comfortable with ERP / MRP systems and operational reporting.

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
