About the role
We’re looking for a Senior OOH Media Planner to join our Planning team. You’ll own the strategy and execution of out-of-home campaigns across a range of clients and verticals, lead vendor relationships and negotiations, and help raise the bar for planning craft across the team. This role is for an experienced planner who can operate independently, guide junior planners, and help shape how the Onescreen platform evolves.
Key responsibilities
AREA | WHAT IT INVOLVES | TIME |
Campaign Strategy | Own audience strategy, market selection, and format mix for each campaign; build recommendations that tie back to client objectives | 40% |
Vendor management | Own OOH vendor relationships; lead negotiations to secure value, placement, and added-value opportunities | 20% |
Client Collaboration | Partner with AEs, account managers, and creative teams on objectives; present plans to clients and senior decision makers with the AE | 15% |
Platform and Product | Operate as a power user of the Onescreen platform; surface product feedback to the product team | 15% |
Team Development | Mentor and review the work of junior planners and associates; contribute to planning process and best practices | 10% |
How success is measured
WHEN | WHAT |
By day 30 | Planning independently on live campaigns; delivering plans within planning SLAs; established working relationships with key vendors, AEs, and the Product team; presenting to clients alongside the AE |
By day 60 | Owns a full book of active campaigns; leading vendor negotiations; has mapped the current planning workflow and identified the top process gaps and platform friction points, with recommendations shared with Planning leadership and Product |
By day 90 | The go-to strategic planner on a set of key accounts: clients and AEs bring them in early to shape the brief, not just respond to it; plans convert to IOs with minimal rework; leading client presentations with the AE; reviewing and mentoring junior planners and associates |
Skills and experience
CRITERION | REQUIREMENT | ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE |
Experience | 3 to 5 years of experience in OOH media planning, with demonstrated ownership of client campaigns | Essential |
Technical skills | Strong working knowledge of audience and measurement tools (Geopath, Nielsen, Google Analytics, or similar); advanced spreadsheet skills; comfort in web-based planning platforms; exposure to campaign evaluation and attribution methodologies | Essential |
Industry knowledge | Out-of-home media, retail media networks, ad tech / programmatic | Essential |
Behaviours | Operates independently with sound judgment on priorities; confident presenting and defending a recommendation; invests in developing others; brings the builder’s mindset described below to everyday work | Essential |
Value alignment
Onescreen hires and develops people with a builder's mindset: curiosity about how things actually work, a habit of pulling the thread past the first explanation to the structural cause, systems thinking that asks "what's the most efficient way to do this" before "how do I do this," and a discomfort with the status quo that shows up as extending the system instead of routing around it. We're services-led today, by design, but our enterprise value depends on proving a scalable platform model — which means every workaround, stale export, or side-doc this role creates or notices is a signal worth surfacing, not a convenience worth keeping quiet. This role is evaluated on the builder's mindset as directly as it's evaluated on its core responsibilities.
What this means for this role:
- Builds the planning process, not just the plans: when a step is slow, manual, or inconsistent across planners (market selection, cost schedules, proposal build), documents a better way, tests it on live campaigns, and turns it into the team standard.
- Works as a product partner, not just a product user: brings structured requirements to the Product team based on real campaign needs, pressure-tests new features on live plans, and treats every workaround, stale export, or side-doc as a product gap to close rather than a habit to keep.
- Shapes client strategy from the data up: uses audience, market, and performance insights to challenge the brief when it doesn’t fit the objective, and brings a point of view on where OOH should play in the client’s broader mix rather than executing the request as given.
- Connects what they learn across campaigns back into the system: patterns in what works for a vertical, recurring client objections, or vendor gaps feed into planning playbooks, platform improvements, and future recommendations instead of staying in one planner’s head.
