About The Role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our new Solutions Engineering team to help bridge the gap between our core product, integrations, and implementation teams to help get our customers to market faster and more efficiently. In this role, you will bring your technical expertise and systems design thinking skills to translate complex client requirements into actionable engineering solutions: either reusing existing patterns or building custom solutions. You will be in a client-facing role with high visibility and opportunity for impact. This role requires a deep understanding of wealth management business processes, coupled with strong backend architecture and systems design experience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, scope, and propose tailored solutions, ensuring alignment with existing product capabilities and customer goals

• Engage with implementation-stage enterprise wealth management customers in both Canada and the US to understand their business processes, pain points, and technology needs

• Lead discovery sessions with strategic customers to better understand and document requirements for configuration, integration, and customization of the OneVest platform

• Leverage patterns and structures to streamline building workflows, configurations, and adding new integrations

• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing leadership on technical design and direction for customer solutions

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to adjust architectural patterns as client needs evolve

• Uplevel the team and individual engineers through through technical mentorship, best practices, and knowledge sharing

• Set high standards for technical and operational excellence, ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable, and secure

• Share client knowledge and insights with internal teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

Tech Stack:

We use TypeScript across our platform, with React (web) and React Native (mobile) on the front end, and Node.js and MongoDB on the back end. Our platform follows a microservices architecture, hosted on AWS

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role

• Expertise in modern tech stacks, with hands-on experience in TypeScript, Node.js, and MongoDB

• Experience working with complex and configurable SaaS platforms with a strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, and infrastructure

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of organisations of varying sizes and complexities

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• History of leadership and mentorship for other teams, providing technical guidance and best practice expertise

• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work

Nice to have:

• You have worked in financial services, wealth services, or a related industry

• Experience with work orchestration or other related automation platforms

• You have working experience at startups and scale-ups, or in a consultancy services
